If you are a Spurs fan then you want that Spurs win so you would think to trade everyone if that makes the team better.

Suggesting a reasonable trade that helps the Spurs has nothing to do with "hate." Sorry, but if Memphis offered Mayo & Conley for Parker or Philly offered Iguodala & Holiday I'd say do it. It has to do with modern salary cap rules more than anything else, not under-appreciating an obviously great point guard.

to the OP for this thread. Tony means too much to this team to let him go for table scraps. As good as George Hill is, the guy is a shooting guard, not a point guard. Tony is going to be here next year, and I'll be damn glad to see it.

Unless you are actually RC Buford, there is no way you could know for sure. Many stranger trades involving superstars have happened-- Oscar Robertson, Chamberlain, Earl Monroe, Garnett, Clyde Drexler, Gasol.... For some reason, Parker has always been under appreciated. Now, he's been forgotten. That's how it works now in the NBA when you go through one injury plagued season, you become forgotten and the latest flavor of the month is all the rage.
It happened to Wade in '08, it happened to Ginobili in '09 and it's happening to Paul now. Three of the top fifteen players in the league were being either doubted, forgotten or both.
Parker will pick right back up where he left off at the end of the 08-09 season next season and he'll remind everybody that he's one of the top twenty players in the league.
Here's what people either don't know or fail to acknowledge: since Parker and Ginobili both reached a new level (for Ginobili it was 07-08; for Parker it was 08-09), we haven't seen them both healthy and in rhythm. That right there, before the Spurs make any external improvements, or receive any internal improvements, should make this team next season a better team than we've see in at least two seasons, but probably three. Throw in the every improving Hill and this should be easily the best back court in the league.
Again I think we can all agree that Tony will likely bounce back with an excellent year if healthy. But the question for the front office is whether or not he's worth a long-term max contract after next year. 25-30 year old Parker is a max player. Will 30-35 year old Parker be a max player as well?

It's not about that. There is nothing wrong with some members on here considering trading parker for some players and working out some theories because they have nothing else to do apparently. There is nothing wrong in doing that in 1 thread, it's still stupid and disrespecting, but I can understand it.
But it's about constantly finding a way to hate on him in those same threads, his play, constantly spitting bull .
It's about making 100 threads about trading him for bull just for the sake of trading him and getting rid of him because of disliking him. It's not about just a trade speculation thread anymore, it is always filled with hate and stupidness and bashing. That's what is so ridiculous.

But,It's ridiculous and it's ruining the spurs forum and threads, for that I do care. When someone opens a nice thread, immediately its ruined with crap because some people dislike the guy personally. Also 10 times a new thread is made about the same thing. So that means 10 times the same hate, 10 times the same bashing, 10 times the same ridiculous rumors, plus its making the forum messy. 1 trade thread? fine.
And in the other TP highlight thread I was just pointing out how funny it is that the thread clearly shows how people think of him, nothing more.

Kori and LJ get to decide what goes too far in their house. The rest of us are just guests. Complaining about the company someone else allows in their house doesn't make much sense. There are other houses to visit.

besides, about opening 10 new threads and the forum getting messy, well kori and lj themselves have opened a raise the bar thread, so I think opening 10 irrelevant threads about the same topic also falls under the raise the bar idea.

When someone makes a stupid thread -- don't post in it. The reason those threads stay on the front page is because people post in them over and over and over telling the OP that they are dumb. If you don't post in stupid threads, they'll be off the front page in a matter of hours.

chill out guys... most of the TP haters are "I created an account just to hate TP" posters anyway. The well known and appreciated posters of this board are showing a the respect he deserves and thats the most important IMO.
Do you realize George Hill isn't a PG and isn't ready to lead a team? Do you realize that while we may not win a le without him trading him for Troy Murphy and scraps, or Derrick Favors and D-Harris or whatever else will also not win us a le? Do you realize that everyone wants a max deal and he will most likely settle because he has said he wants too retire in San Antonio.....etc. etc. etc.
