When is Chris Paul's contract up again?
The New Orleans Hornets moved quickly on Friday to hire a head coach when Boston assistant coach Tom Thibodeau couldn't give them an answer to their job offer, agreeing to terms with Trail Blazers assistant Monty Williams on a three-year contract with a team option for a fourth, according to a source involved in the negotiations.
The Hornets wanted to hire Thibodeau, who has received credit for installing the defensive schemes that have led Boston to the 2008 le and gotten them back to the Finals this year against the Lakers. But Thibodeau couldn't pull the trigger on their offer, after also being courted by the Bulls and Nets.
When Thibodeau didn't accept the Hornets' offer Thursday, they wasted no time on Friday making their pitch to Williams, who became one of Portland Coach Nate McMillan's most trusted lieutenants.
ESPN first reported the agreement between New Orleans and Williams.

Over or under him lasting 3 years?
WTF? Thibodeau is expected to commit in the middle of the NBA Finals? The Hornets just made their stupidest move since moving to New Orleans.
He didn't want to coach the Hornets. He's most likely going to Chicago. Monty was the Hornets second choice.
CP3 actually wanted Monty to get the job over anyone else.
Scott's time had come. He's not a bad coach, but the team stopped listening to him because he didn't make enough adjustments. The team improved once he got fired.
Scott wanted to be fired at that point. Why would he want to coach a bunch heartless birds when the Lakers job might be opening up?
WTF I didn't even know Monty Williams was regarded as even a good assistant coach let alone someone that can be a head coach.
Of course, his coaching had nothing to do with the way they played, right?
Mony Williams will be a good coach. Better than Thibodeaux imo.
Be honest Red. A lot of it had to do with players with bad at udes (West in particular). It's not like they played better after his termination anyway.
West actually did play better after Scott left. I'm not saying that the players aren't partially responsible, but most of it falls on the coach.
sons all I can do is laugh about this ... lol lol lol lol lol lol
if this new billionaire owner doesn't get the team from Shinn, then expect Chris Paul to leave in 2 years.
everybody knows cp3 is leaving anyway...
that current roster is pathetic anyway
everyone also knows that the Spurs are on a downhill slide and won't even win 45 games next season.
45? Everybody knows the Spurs are going to tank again and get the first pick.
lol at trying to dog the Spurs who are clearly superior because your team is in shambles.
You guys were a 7th seed who got beatdown in the second round even without Robin Lopez. You guys are only getting older. Don't act like the Spurs are something special.
Who gives a if the Spurs are clearly superior? They are clearly old and they are clearly not winning anything any time soon, too.
Neither team is.
There is no point of talking when both teams are mediocre.
Lol winning 50 games is not medicore. Not championship material but far from sucking like the hornets.
