Prolly the Rose/Nazr trade
All these trades were before the current spurs front office running the team now. What are the big trade steals this current fo made.
Prolly the Rose/Nazr trade
It turned out to be a good trade, but it wasn't like it was a steal of any kind. Robertson made one more All-Star game and two more All-Defensive teams while on the Bucks. They traded for need, and mings did a lot for the Spurs, but the Spurs had to give up a lot to get him.
Thats terrible for over 10 years.
Thats exactly my point the spurs need to get someone in the front office that knows how to improve the team with good trades.
yeah maybe then they'll win a ring!
Yeah, those guys....
Manu - 57th
Tony - 28th
George Hill - 26th
I know you said trade, but![]()
Sam Presti seems to be missed.
I'll just add that mings wasn't the "main reason" but he was one of the reasons the Spurs had a 35-win turnaround from the previous season. New pieces in Sean Elliott and Rod Strickland (Mo Cheeks for a while) helped the Spurs a great deal. David Robinson was the biggest change factor, in my opinion, because of Dave's defensive presence. The Spurs went from being ranked 13th defensively with defensive specialist Alvin Robertson in '88-89, to a ranking of 3rd defensively with Robinson and his new teammates. mings was important but I don't see him as the main reason for 56 wins. Meanwhile, Robinson won the Rookie of the month every month and ROY, was 10th in the NBA in scoring, 2nd in NBA rebounding and 3rd in blocks and won the Schick(IBM) Award for best all-around player in the NBA. I'm just sayin...
How many trades have the Spurs FO made in the last 10 years?
They haven't needed to make a lot of trades. They've made some decent draft picks and have just needed to sign a few FAs to build around the key players.
If they had made at least a good trade or two they would not be watching the lakers win back to back les and back to back to back les in the early 2000s.
