    Is a similar scenario possible?

In 69, the Lakers were the heavy favorites, they were younger, and the big 3 - West, Baylor and Chamberlain - was en fuego

Boston was an aging team; they made the playoffs as the 4th place team in the Eastern Division, and were not favored to make it to the Finals.
    Sounds familiar?

On top of that, the Lakers won the first 2 games at home.

The Celtics won game 7 in L.A

The Lakers are not the heavy favorites this year. At best they are slight favorites.

Am I the only who is utterly confused when analysts and fans bring up past series between teams in which the player and coaching makeup is entirely different as if it has ANY relevance on what is happening today?

I'm not saying it's exactly the same.

It's important not to take things out of context.

There are just a few similarities, but that's it

Hey, maybe the Lakers will win the series in 4
