Police: Tony Parker Involved In Exchange With Airport Worker
SportingNews
Spurs guard Tony Parker yelled a profanity at an airport bookstore employee during a verbal altercation,
the San Antonio Express-News reports.
According to San Antonio police, Parker was shopping at the store about 1:30 p.m. CT Thursday when he was approached by fans seeking autographs. Parker refused to sign. Store employee Courtney Giberson then told Parker, “That’s why you guys lost to the Phoenix Suns.” Parker responded angrily and uttered the profanity at Giberson.
Giberson reported Parker to a nearby police officer, who took statements from both people.
Giberson’s purported version,
posted to the gossip blog TheDirty.com, differs slightly. In this account, Parker was outside the store and refused Giberson’s request to speak with her father by telephone. He then turned down fans’ autograph requests.
Giberson then made her remark about the Spurs-Suns series, angering Parker and several men traveling with him, and walked back into the store. One of the men went into the store and continued yelling at the woman. A female co-worker confronted Parker’s group before police were called.
No arrests were made.
