Hahaha well the conference actually hasn't even started, but yeah rumors were the phone would be called iPhone HD.

I think the name is real though. iPhone HD is likely the name of the device.

All I know is, after spending just a single weekend using my Evo 4G, Apple is going to have to pull a rabbit out of it's hat to compete with this phone. It's freaking phenomenal. The screen is just big enough to enjoy a movie on. It's a fantastic phone.
Streaming 4G at work right now to listen to Pandora radio. Even the external speaker out of this thing sounds pretty damn respectable.

One thing that puzzles me... I don't get why people say that Froyo is so much faster than 2.1. I have not seen this phone lag a single time. I tell it to open a program and BAM it's open. Even dolphin HD browser flies. So I don't really get where 2.1 is considered all that slow. I DO use Advanced Task Killer though, but even so, this phone is FAST.

I'm getting that phone in september. I already qualify for the upgrade and just need to scrape together enough cash for that 200 dollar price tag. I wanted to wait until all the bugs were worked out of it.
I learned my lesson with the Palm Pre..that was definitely a phone not worth waiting for.
Surely the CPU used in the iPhone HD will be more current and faster than the almost 2 year old one in the EVO.

Almost 2 years old? The Snapdragon wasn't even available in a consumer product until the 2nd half of 2009.
