It's called "Taint On Taint"
Ted Danson plays Dr. Aeneas Taint, a part-time reporter, part-time proctologist, searching for love in a post-apocalyptic Detroit.
o,
My name is Erick Cantu From San Antonio Tx. First off i'd like to say
thank you for taking the time to read this.
I am 1 of 3 owners of a San Antonio based movie company called Cheap
Soup Films. We originally got started out by making numerous short films in and around San Antonio. Some went on to be nominated as finalists and win film festivals. I wanted ask if any of you might be able to help us out. Cheap Soup Films will be holding a benefit silent auction next month at The Courtyard by Marriot Westover Hills to raise money to make our first ever full length feature film. Its a comedy en led "The One Way"
Our goal is to collect some cool and unique items from people/organizations that we could auction off that will help us raise money and achieve our goal. I want to ask if anyone could possibly donate anything. Items that are obviously popular with people seem to be tickets to events, Sports memorabilia, hotel stays, and trips. If you have other items you feel could work we are open to that as well.
So far we have been fortunate enough to have the following companies help us out. Hotel Valencia Riverwalk free hotel stay, Family season pack from Witte Museum, Family day pack from SA Zoo, Watchmen graphic novel signed by Rorschach himself Jackie Earle Haley(New Freddie Krueger), Gigantic vintage movie posters, Cleo's Fine Jewelry and a few others. Most of the Major organizations we have contacted, only help non profit groups which we are not. We are just dedicated directors trying whatever it takes to be able to fulfill our dream of making a full length feature. This is why i am reaching out to Spurstalk. Hopefully someone would be willing to lend a hand.
We would appreciate anything you could do to help us make our dream come true.
If you want to make sure we are legit you can check out our website and
youtube channel and read a little about us. Thank you again so much for
taking the time to read this. Have a great day and we hope to hear from you soon. You can contact me by my email. [email protected]
Take Care.

you had some award winning short stories, and you can't find any investors?
People always looking for handouts
get a job you piece of !
hey, I could understand if it was some spurtalk regular asking for contributions from his friends but this lowlife hasnt contributed to this forum. He's only here because of the popularity of the website and the huge number of San antonians that post here. If anyone gives this guy anything I'm going to be seriously pissed.
only if you pledge to shoot only in SA with a SA crew and a minimum 80% Native SA cast...
Oh, so does that mean that you will give me some money? I have a business plan that I am developing. Let me see if you like the name. It is called "Buy me a motorcycle please. It can be a used one, doesn't have to be super big or expensive, and I am really only looking for $5000." I know that is kind of a long name for a business, but I have done some focus groups (wife, best friend, and a cat) and they all agreed that it was catchy. Here are some quotes from the focus groups "If I agree with you, will you leave me alone?!?", "Dude, you already have a motorcycle", "Meow", "Don't get it in my hair, thank you". Ok that last one wasn't from the focus group, but I thought that it may help to show that I am a family man, and that I can comply with customer requests.
If you have money for my business, please let me know through private message, or just come throw it at me.

San Antonio. If you throw it at me, please use cash or check, even prepaid card will work. As long as you don't throw bullion I should be fine. I have already learned my lesson with that!
I'd be tentative in going into some kinda movie production business agreement with luva. Word on the ST grapevine suggests that he'd prolly demand sporadic dance sequences set to obnoxious sitar music.
if ur good with the camera, why not film porno which requires no money
LAME.
When did making movies become a charitable cause?
No Soup Films is better.

Cream Soup (Porn?)
Good luck with your begging. Might as well dirty it up and hang out on street corner with a sign that says....God...or Christ....or bless.
Wow ok so many great responses where to start. I like coming to spurs talk because there is a lot if interesting things to read and many different opinions and takes on the spurs and the NBA. I like to frequent the page. I personally dont post much on ST because i notice a lot of people come down hard on commenters that don't quite have all the facts. I consider myself a huge spurs fan, but i cant say i know every detail or salary situation so i just read and enjoy everyone's take and gain some good knowledge on stuff i didnt think about before.
A far as feeling bad about the comments made here. I dont feel bad at all. Everyone has their opinions and you are en led to them. I completely understand that not everyone will like our style of movie or comedy, and some will take exception to me asking for any assistance. I reached out here because i thought perhaps someone would like to help out. If not, no big deal. I was willing and still am willing to take a chance and do whatever it may take for us to be able to make our first feature film. Its very obvious our prior movies lack the acting and technical production we would like to have had. We did not have any budget for these films and had to act ourselves and make due with what we had. The new movie has professional actors who will be paid and budgets in equipment and crew.
It is not easy for the majority of people to get their first feature made. Budget is usually the thing that will hold it up and is where most will quit because they get rejected by investors etc..
Yes we have a budget set for this film.
Yes we have a production schedule and locations to film.
We are trying our best to ensure this film is entirely shot in San Antonio and we are using majority San Antonio actors with a few from Austin.
Even though I seem to be getting slammed for the post, I still appreciate everyone's time in reading my letter.
I have no hard feelings whatsoever. Im not gonna go all American Idol and say "You watch were gonna make it and you'll regret it!". Thats not us. We are just Texas filmmakers that have a passion for film and are going to try to do whatever is needed to accomplish our goal. Alright everyone take care.
Erick
had me up til there.
And since Pm5k asked 2 times i will answer to the best of my ability about making movies becoming a charitable cause. When it comes to independent filmmaking it is all about people lending a helping hand. It is insane to believe you will be ale to fund your entire project solely from investors. Filmmakers routinely get locations, props, costumes, even crew services donated to them to help with a production. I have seen craft services donated from restaurants to help out as well. I can not speak about Hollywood, but i would imagine they also have a great deal of items donated to them as well. I would believe even more so because of the potential exposure of the person/ service.
And to panic giraffe, this film consists of 4 main actors and 3 minor. There is 1 minor actor that is from Austin. We are trying to push our local San Antonio talent. Our main cast consists of 4 incredibly talented actors. 2 of which are also theater performers here at UIW.
The feature is a dark comedy about 2 best friends Ruben and Benji who work together at an office. When a hated coworker Sherman shafts one of the main characters out of a promotion, Ruben and Benji decide to take matters into their own hands. They decide to invite Sherman to a lake house for what he believes is to hang out for the weekend. What Sherman doesn't know is that Ruben and Benji have had it with Sherman and are planning to kill him. A wrench is thrown into their plan when Sherman arrives at the lake house with a bunch of friends. Benji and Ruben must now think of other clever ways of killing Sherman without anyone noticing.
Its a comedy about how they are trying to kill this guy Sherman but keep screwing it up.
Why don't you make a movie about SpursTalk?![]()
Ok... this is how it is done WITHOUT charity:
1. Aspiring filmmaker goes to film school (UT Austin)
2. Aspiring filmmaker learns making a feature film will be expensive... so he gets another degree in Business
3. Aspiring filmmaker launches Zukor Marketing and goes to work in Silicon Valley in order to raise funds for his movie.
4. Aspiring filmmaker makes LOTS of money and MEETS people in his field who invest the rest.
5. Aspiring film maker launches Zukor Entertainment and writes/produces/directs first feature length film - NO PAIN NO GAIN ... all without groveling.
Check it out... www.zukor.com --- www.zukor.com/marketing --- www.zukor.com/entertainment --- www.nopainnogainmovie.com
Your welcome.
I can only imagine the responses if this was a movie about religion.
