I have like a 2001 hp that i want to get rid of. how can i make it a clean slate so it will work decently for the person i sell it to?

explain 'wipe it'
Use the dishwasher.
Seriously...

That's about as simple as you're going to find it.
Reformatting won't erase your personal info. Use dban to wipe it clean.
Seriously, the only reason I could see people wanting to buy a machine from 2001 is to go back and steal credit card numbers from people who thought erasing files or doing a format was enough.
lil slow
hahahahahaha
I'm thinking of selling my old XP system with the 2.4 ghz celeron and 80gbyte HD. Problem is, now that you can get computers for cheap, it isn't worth much. I'm thinking of just giving it to a friend who is often strapped for cash.
If you get more than $50 for a 2001 desktop I'll be completely shocked..
No kidding. I'd be surprised too. I might get $100 for mine, but I think I would rather give it to someone who doesn't have a computer and cant afford one.
We recently got rid of three desktops from about 2000-2001.. we just took out the hard drives and gave them away like you're thinking about doing. Then drilled the HDD's with a power drill
I'll be shocked too. It's probably worth like $25.
Dont waste your time fixing it unless you are planning to go to Juarez to sell it and are looking for beer money..
Was this really worth a thread?
Yeah $50 was a bit high. Not even worth selling the damn thing TBH
You better shut your little in mouth you in punk kid. You're dealing with a mutha in VETERAN here.![]()
I'm selling it and a computer desk to a coworker for $85
