England was supposed to pound us. Playing them to a draw is basically a victory for the USA.
Tale of two halves concerning passing/possession. The US was 50/50 with England at the end of the first half. After the first 15 mins of the 2nd, Bradley packed it in, deciding to play for the tie

Thursday or friday. I don't remember.
Friday, 6/18, at 9:30 am EDT, against Slovenia.
Agreed, Clark was mostly a non-factor. Could see Bob put him in for the next match...Same with Buddle, although I stand by my statement that Findley was the right start due to his speed. Terry and Carragher were no match for the speed of Altidore and Findley. I'd be concerned if I were England because their back line is reaaalllllllly slowwwww
FRIDAY!?!?!?!?! OY!![]()
That's good to hear. Something I wasn't aware of.

USA - SLOVENIA 10am on 18th
I feel you. I am not working for 1 whole month. That's how much the world cup means to me.
Very disappointing game by England. Good one by the US, though. Lampard disappearing again like he has done so often in international matches. I hope this was Heskey's last game as a starter.
Well, my day wasn't ruined by a US loss. I can now head out and start drinking in a good mood.
Thank goodness it's WC time!!!!!
GO USA!!!!!!

A freaking tie? No single elimination?
Soccer is a freaking kids game and will be overtaken by basketball as the most popular sport in the world in our lifetime.
The only reason it became the most popular sport is because it is, by far, the cheapest to play. Pele learned to play soccer in Brazil with a sock stuffed with newspaper as a ball and no shoes on his feet.
The game is a total fraud and the US sees right through it.
I hope you die
You're an idiot.
+1 Those horns are ing annoying as . If you kept blowing one of those at a baseball or football game here in the USA, you'd probably get your ass kicked.![]()
Slovenia has a chance to really make this group interesting with a win tomorrow.
Jim Rome??????
Where's your 6 syllable word?
Great, but soccer still sucks.
Hey, why don't you get the outta the soccer thread, then, loser...
I agree.
The tie is a very good performance for team USA, both teams will advance for the next stage.
Quit disapointing game for England, they entered in this compe ion with a classification record of 9 W 34 goals for 6 or 7 taken and they didn't play at their expected level. One positive thing is Johnson contribution, he is very very good.
You're free to leave now...goodbye...
Messi plays for Barcelona? Damn the Spanish league is loaded if that stud is there.
Isn't the Spanish league where all the Brazilian studs play as well?
The majority of the world disagrees. But you're still an idiot.
The world cup was freaking HERE in 1994 and it STILL didnt gain a shred of popularity.
We know the game. We play it as kids before we develop hand-eye coordination. Then as we get older, we ditch it for sports which are much more fun to play and watch like football, basketball and baseball.
Basketball, is by far, the most fun to play and its spreading like wildfire across the globe.
Soccer will always have a niche audience here in the US but nothing more. World cups, beckham etc are never going to make the game interesting to us.
