It's a must win game for Boston, not necessarily LA. HCA doesn't play a huge role in this series, but LA is more than capable of winning both games at home, no way Boston wins two in LA.
This is a must win for both teams. This will be the best game of the series. Expect it to come down to a final shot in the 4th or in overtime.

Game 5 winner takes the LOB.
Lakers or Celtics fans, dont get your hopes high ending this in 6 games. Game 1 garnered the most ratings since 2004 followed by Game 4 which pulled almost a million more viewers than Game 1 (11.4 million). I have reasons to believe that this is going 7 games, so expect more touch fouls and blown calls for the next 2 games, anything to ensure that none of these teams closes out in 6 games. When was the last time the league had a 7 Game NBA Finals series? Rockets-Knicks in 95? Which was aweful and lacked star power. Stern would be absolutely stupid not to stretch this and milk the advertisers for as much money as possible.
IMO the game tonight will boil down to Kobe's adjustment and Phil Jackson's coaching. They are going to show why they are worth $40 million a year. Jackson's game preparation and Kobe's determination will be the biggest difference. Jackson already started by providing moral support for Artest and lighting a fire under Odom for the past two days. I also expect Phil to swallow his pride a bit more, so he will call time outs at the slightest presence of momentum switching to the Celtics as opposed to his usual "let the team figure it out" early in the game. I dont expect Kobe to have a very good shooting game again, but take note at all the subtle changes in his game plan for tonight, whether it would be a key rebound, a hustle, a pass or that timely clutch, Kobe's going all mental tonight. Gasol will get his usual 20 and 10 while Bynum, Artest and Fisher will all chip in theirs. For Boston, I dont expect Nate and Baby to duplicate their success but I think Rondo, KG and Allen will come out firing to help Boston push a steady attack. I also feel mentally, the Lakers wants this game more than Boston besides that aspect, ultimately the game will be won with X and O's ladies and gents.

Spurs/Pistons in 2005.
Duh??!! Still get chills thinking about that one...from despair to elation in the longest 12+ minutes of my life...thanks to Tim &^*%ing Duncan in no small part!![]()
When I watch replays of the 2005 playoffs it reminds me how underrated Brent Barry was for the Spurs. He and Horry always gave that team exactly what they needed in big moments and it seems like neither one ever made a terrible decision, and it also seems like they both made all the open shots they had in the 4th quarter.
Barry didn't sell the foul when he was fouled in the last seconds.
this game has important meaning for Staples le rafters and Koolaid's bank account...
Kobe's legacy on the line IMO...Gotta beat Boston to grab the mantle from Magic as LA's finest and 3 peat to overshadow MJ's legacy...
being miserable Kobe this has to be done and it has to start tonight...
FYI -- Koolaid will share a porn industry success secret at halftime tonight be on the lookout...
Oh, goody...Joey Crawford is reffing tonight...should be another "interesting" game...expect a lot of techs.![]()
Odom needs to show up for L.A, if Bynum can't play then they need some good production from him.
+1 Odom has been about worthless lately...he needs to step up, or this series is gonna slip away from the Lakers.
Joey Crawford reffing = Celtics loss
^ this
Perkins gets #7 on a bull double-T tonight and will thus be suspended for Game 6...book that right ing now!
I hope Bynum has the game of his life tonight. I like his toughness when he could have easily just gotten surgery and played it safe for his next contract.
For Laker win:
Kobe goes for 40 OR Bynum gets a double-double OR Odom steps up
Win or lose this series the Lakers have the advantage of going back home for the final two games.
While Boston can certainly win one more in LA, the odds are higher that LA wins two straight on their home floor.
Stuffing the ballot.
Let's go LAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()
the fix is in...
joey crawford will bring this home for the lakers---not even a mystery tonight---
cool..i hope he does.
