    Hi

I have a big window, 92 inches, in my bedroom. With summer sun coming up earlier now, I haven't been sleeping past 5:30-6am on most days. Looking to put up some black out curtains. I can only find up to 90" tension rods on amazon. Country Curtains said they don't have anything as well.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

    no problem, you're welcome!

btw, there's a "buy, sell, trade, etc..." sub forum here you might want to post in instead.

Does it have to be a tension rod? Here's a regular curtain rod that expands from 86-120 inches.

I would think a tension rod would sag really badly if it were that long.

    Well,

I live in Apt in NYC with floor to ceiling windows.

I won't have any wall space above the window and blindes. Not allowed to drill into the ceiling.

So a regular curtain rod doesn't seem like it could work.

You'll need a center support! Or use tin foil!

You won't need support if you make your own using conduit. It's cheap and not exactly hard to do.

Or just buy some heavy duty 3M adhesive hooks and use a normal curtain rod.

A 90" tension rod would surely need a center support. A shower curtain rod would probably be the strongest tension rod you can get but I don't think they come that long.

You can mount regular curtain rods outside the window frame on the wall even if they are simply even with the top of the window. Then you need to look for some sort of right angle thing you can screw inside the top of the window frame that extends out far enough to support the rod.

hrmmm. I was looking around a little at bed bath and beyond to see what they got. I ended up purchasing 2 tension (50-90" and a 18-30" ) rods with an extender piece they had on the wall. It requires I drill into the ceiling. The last system I used had an adhesive that I could use to keep the curtain rod up. See if getting some double stick tape or something would work (Doubting it).

    Thanks for the help
