I am trying to figure out how he enrolled in college without a Social Security Number or do entation of registering for selective service. If instead he actually told Harvard he was not a US citizen, would not they require his student Visa if he was using a Mexican passport as his form of ID?
I get why people don't want illegal immigration, but you would think this dude is the sort of illegal immigration you would want. This kid wants to be american and excels at the everything that matters. I'd say make a law that makes illegal immigration a crime UNLESS you make it to an IVY league university

Not to mention, a lot of times schools don't ask for SSNs. The only reason they would need one is to file for your financial aid (yes I realize he was going there based on receiving a scholarship...conundrum...dum dum dum)....

Clearly the guy needs to get a green card.... technically the kid did nothing wrong, it's the parents who were at fault.
He deserves it... that's for sure.
Clearly, the best policy here is to punish achievement by holding strong to technical compliance with administrative paperwork requirements.
It would seem to me that an acceptable solution would allow him to apply now for citizenship (if he wants to) or for a visa and continue with his education. But why try to find sensible solutions and allow a kid to better himself when we can stand hard on a policy and make an example here!!

The other illegal chick story sounded like bull and was really shady considering all the financial aid and stuff she got. This kid's on scholarship, right? He earned it on his own merit. I'm not saying he should get away with being illegal, he should work it off...but it's stupid to kick a smart person out of the country when they can be used to the advantage of our communities.
after that piece of gets deported he should be forced to pay back the $120,000 or so dollars that the San Antonio school district and tax payers spent on his K-12 education

Well then I guess he has to do something else... Harvard will work with him... they want the publicity for his plight as much as he wants the education.
