First of all, I don't care one way or another about UTSA. I think that they should up their admissions standards to not accept 95% of applicants, if they want any respect as a college - that's my only opinion on the place.
I would probably go watch their football games because it's college football - better than not having college football in San Antonio.
Both sides were wrong in the inital "incident". Both Steven and Pee Wee apologized for stirring things up from the get-go. During the incident, the only person who complained to me was Roadies - sending PM after PM after PM complaining about his/her personal info being on the board. I was nice about it and cleaned it all up - deleting the troll using his real name, etc. However I did point out that his real information wouldn't be out there if he wasn't dumb enough to call someone who had caller ID.
Since the time of incident, I have respectfully asked that the UTSA stuff be in the UTSA threads. Several long standing posters (not people in Steve/Pee Wee/JT crew... but people who have been contributing to the board much longer than that) have told me that they can't even bear to go in that forum because it was all UTSA threads.
timvp and I discussed it and we had decided that we would make a UTSA sub-forum of the College Sports forum to help ease the tensions and give the UTSA crowd their own dedicated space. We were planning on setting that up this past weekend after I finished my work (let's face it people, if I don't work then we can't afford the luxury of SpursTalk existing).
In the meantime, I have been constantly getting vile, abusive threatening emails/PMs from the UTSA crowd but I was STILL going to give them their separate subforum.
It's pretty clear at SpursTalk that if a thread is locked/deleted/merged and you don't agree with it that you can PM me and I'll talk to you. It should also be pretty clear that if you start threads calling me names and send me PM's calling me a , then you are probably going to be trashed. I banned bleed temporarily. He was going to be banned for 24 hours and be released when the new sub-board was open. But no ... it couldn't be that simple. Then there came multiple user names, more obnoxious/abusive posts and the rest of the total trash.
You supporters of UTSA can do whatever you want, but keeping your "we rule, free speech mother er .. who gives a ... your mother .... everyone hates UTSA... WAA WAA WAA " at ude isn't conducive to MY forum and it's probably not encouraging anyone to be supportive of your school. And this is where some of you are a little confused. It's not a "free speech/we can do whatever we want/ Kori and her husband" forum. It's a privately owned board. If I want to start a rule tomorrow saying no one can post the let "r" in their posts or they'll be banned, then I can. It's my board.
And for all of you who are going to say, " SpursTalk, it sucks anyway, we have other places to go." Then please.. Go.
