I simply think Lebron quit and Kobe wants to win. The Spurfan posts in this thread about how Manu doesn't care, HE JUST WANTS TO WIN! Are hilarious. Kobe started forcing this issue when his team was down by 11 and the game was slipping away. Everyone criticized Lebron for not doing the same thing, so this thread calling out hypocrisy is perfectly reasonable. When the game is slipping away, the superstar is supposed to take over and keep his team in it. Sometimes, that's not enough, but that's what a superstar is supposed to do. That's what Kobe did, and that's what Lebron didn't do.
Son..its all bout defense...If Kobe AND the Lakers were only able to get some stops during the third, the ball game woulda been different. Boston simply matched each of Kobe's points.
Jordan didn't rely on making low percentage shots at a high rate at any point in his career. He broke down defenses and used his teammates to help him do it. Kobe doesn't deserve a Jordan comparison other than to say he doesn't deserve one.![]()
typically you call out some specific people unless you wanna be deemed a pussy.
Truth, and Boston did a great job making sure Kobe's offense didn't trickle down to the entire team. They did what you're supposed to do, weather the Kobe onslaught knowing that the last thing you want is for his teammates to get going while he's hot.
And the result at the end of Kobe taking over was his team...being down by 11.
lol..im usually cool and i can easily understand opposing views. but the HYPOCRISY today just got me all "fired up".

part of the reason Boston scored so much was because of rebounds that they got from Kobe's impossible shots and rocketed up court to score, not allowing LA's defense to set up. Kobe ed up his team's chances to win that game on those shots as much he kept them in the game with shot-making. the proof is in the score.
blame the defense.
If he didn't take over his team woulda been down by 20+, Kobe going nuts in the 3rd is what kept LA in the game.
Nah, you're being conservative. They'd have been down by 30; that's how good Kobe is! There's no better way to get your team involved in the game than to take all the shots no matter how many defenders chase you around! That's how all the great players do it.
I hate to say it but that OV is right on in this thread. The diff between Jordan and Kobe is when its time to take over Jordan took high percentage shots and penalized his opponents for doubling him. Kobe just takes a bunch of hero type fadeaways with a 9.9 degree of difficulty.
I guess Kobe can't be bothered to play defense when he's jacking up all the shots on the other end, huh?
I hate to say it but you're too big a pussy to post as yourself.
no one in here is trying to compare Kobe to Jordan (other then OV).
Anyways..so he makes some crazy shots...he made 50% of them. Who gives a as long as it goes in.
last time i check, Kobe was part of the defense...hence, blame the defense.
That's not how good Kobe is, that's how bad his supporting cast was yesterday. Him trying to get his teammates involved wasn't working, anyone who thinks Kobe didn't try his best to will his team to a win last night is an idiot. He also scored 19 points the 1st 6 minutes of the 3rd, it's not like he shot his team out of the game. He was on fire and kept shooting. I'm sure if he was missing he woulda done something different.
Yes, it's always someone else's fault when he loses, and all on him when he wins. He's the Dallas Mavericks personified.
What's even greater logic is the implication that Kobe had nothing to do with them being down 11 when he decided to "take over."
If people watched the Celtics then they'd realize that they're playing incredible defense. They've been exposing teams weaknesses and proving to be a tougher team than all of their opponents....and these guys are all hated by the refs yet have stolen HCA throughout the playoffs. Shaping up to be one crazy championship story if Boston takes it all.
The Lakers are also not that great of an offensive team thats also dealing with a weakened Bynum. Their three point shooting sucks and their offense is based around moving the ball around (LA had 12 assists last game and averaged 20 in the playoffs so far) while having 2 seven footers on the court. LA would be able to score much easier if their twin towers were healthy unfortunately now they're forced to adjust their minutes to Bynum's injury and don't seem to have the depth to answer Boston's. Sheed has been great on defense and has been able to play both Howard and Gasol 1v1 and his efforts have been phenomenal compared to the regular season. Who the would've thought that Shrek and Donkey would be heroes of a Finals game as well...
The voice of reason.
Anyone who has issues with the way Kobe played last night and say he wasn't involving his teammates is either a hater or just has no basketball IQ.
So when you pass the ball to the bigs and they falter, dribble the clock out, and make no real move to get inside and pass it out of desperation to Kobe to bail them out with seconds left... Kobe's jacking shots.
Come on guys. Has Kobe been a ballhog in thr past? Of course. Will he play games in the future where he is a hog? No doubt. Was he hogging the ball and jacking shots last night? Not even close. As DOK said, he felt out the game, gave his teammates plenty of opportunities to make plays and they came of short everytime with their soft play and lack of desire. He took the game over in the 3rd and had he not done so they lose by 20+. You act like they were playing great and he took them out of it by shooting the majority of the shots in the 3rd. Funny how the supporting cast played the same both before and after the barrage. Go figure.
Your hatred is blinding you or you just simply don't kn ow basketball.
