I disagree with your first sentence. Manu has been known to gunsling with just about anyone. But when he's got a hot hand, like Kobe, it's hard to disagree with it... it works.

But I gotta agree with your second sentences. Kobe's defense was atrocious yesterday. I know "The plan" is to let Rondo shoot open jumpers, but

a) it doesn't give Kobe license to give him wide-open-look-Kobe-isn't-even-in-the-same-zipcode looks

b) Kobe ain't wreaking havoc playing free safety anyway so he might as well man up a bit on D and make Rondo sweat a bit

Look, I'm not dumping on Kobe and the fools saying "bu-bu-bu-but Kobe didn't pass the ball!" just don't get it. He played a fantastic offensive game unlike Game 4 with a bajillion turnovers (and, I might add, unlike Rondo who had a gazillion turnovers of his own in Game 5).

But he was not great on both ends and it is fair to criticize his D. "C'mon Kobe, you're better than that!"
