"I am definitely having a bit of a knee-jerk reaction," she told CNN television.
"I don't want anyone going anywhere.
"(Abby) loves sailing. I don't think she will attempt anything of this magnitude again."
I remember back when I was 15 in 2001, me and cousin decided to hike down then up the Grand Canyon. We thought it was going to be easy and should make it up again in no time. The descend was the easy part which took about 1 and half hours. We were physically drained by the time we got to a rest area cabin, so we refueled our bodies and our empty gatorade bottles. Now going back up was a whole different animal. The sun was blistering 100+ degrees, our calf muscles started cramping up, and we were getting extremely tired. We got so tired and nauseous, that there came a time when we could only manage to walk only a couple of feet, then had to stop to rest for 10 mins or more. It was brutal ! One of the worst days of my life! I litterly thought I was going to pass out and die. But we willed ourselves to make it back up. It took us more than 5 hours to make it back up. When we met our parents back at the visiting center, they weren't mad or anything, but in typical Mexican parent fashion: "did you learn your lesson"?None of this "support team" bull for us. I was extremely humbled after that expeirence.
