If that happens, it'll be about the same with some more vote fraud allegations.

That's two very big ifs, but it could happen.

Curious. ChumpyD said you'd say something like that.

Don't the Republicans have to come up with a legitimate presidential candidate before they can start talking about taking the White House back?

Right now all I see on their masthead is Sarah Palin.

Some fair analysis puts the odds of the Dems losing the House as the current most likely outcome. This is not to say "probable", only that it is slightly more likely than any other outcome, such as losses but retaining control, which is a close second.

Senate seems likely to stay majority Democrat, with some Democratic losses.

At this point, Obama has lost me for the most part. I will vote, but not actively campaign for him. He will likely get a second term anyways simply given historical trends.

As a Democrat, I would love for the GOP to get control of the government at this point. I have faith in their complete inability to come up with workable ideas and decent policy solutions, and the challenging economic and geo-political climate would very surely reveal the glaring failure of modern conservatism to address real world problems once and for all.

Modern conservatism and the GOP has been taken over by religious idiots and other zealots whose priorities and concept of the world bear little resemblence to reality, and the faster that is made patently obvious, the sooner we can get around to actually fixing problems.

There is a reason why it seems that Rick Perry has spent more time mentioning the federal government and Obama than he has talking about issues actually dealing with Texas specifically.

The GOP field is wide open. I would LOVE for Palin to get the nod.

    Au Contraire.

In 2008, I kept thinking (during the primaries) that the Dems were wretched for only being able to come up with a choice between a woman who had been the butt of late night jokes for the last 16 years (Hillary), or an untested African American. I couldn't believe that was what they came up with.

Then the Repbulican base made sure that Romney couldn't win the Republican nod, and they came up with a very old man who said he 'didn't know anything about economics', and a ditz who couldn't understand the policy positions they put in front of her.

    The result? The democrats won.

It can happen again, for sure.

Please link the great successes of modern liberalism.

Also, since I am a "modern conservative"; please tell me who, exactly, I am being led by right now - the "idiots and zealots". You obviously know, but I am afraid I do not.

    lulz

The sooner we can get around to actually fixing problems...

I'll just continue laughing at the inability of this government to do anything. I'll continue being amused by the smoke and mirrors kiddie game. And I'll get a special kick out of the masses screwing themselves again during such times.

Are you nuts? I don't think this country could stand another 4 years of wing-nut conservatism...the wing-nuts can't see the short-comings in their policies because it benefits the Corporations, their masters, and the wealth-few over ever one else and they are delusion-ed into thinking that they will someday be in that super-wealthy few...
