Ivory Coast more deserving so far... an actual goal would do wonders for this game.

Try the Radio-Canada (french CBC) feed

(I know, it's not in english)

Since there are less Anglos than Francos in Canada, it should work well

Thanks, I'm still having issues so I can only assume it's from my end. Which is really weird, but oh well.

Why on earth would you not take advantage of that last corner kick? What a waste. They had to know the ref would stop it right after the kick. Might as well take a shot on goal. Terrible play to end the game.

I thought Drogba was going to put that stoppage time chance in the back of the net for some dramatics, but oh well. Was disappointed in that match overall.

This really is turning out to be one of the worst group stages in history. Between the crapfest that was the opening ceremony, the lackluster quality of the games (whatever the reason) and the ing vuvuzelas...

I will say this though, officiating has been impecable so far. Miles ahead of what it was in 2006 and light years ahead of 2002. Props to FIFA for picking refs that know their , for once.

I think watching this game was worth it just to hear this:

"You have to know Ronaldo will go down with any contact, even from the wind"

Sorry, but it actually was. Ivory Coast was actually trying to win the game, and Portugal also managed to hit the post early in the game.

No offense uru, but that France vs Uruguay game was a borefest to anyone not from Uruguay or France. It doesn't mean much though, a lot of games this round have sucked. You should really stop taking everything as a diss on Uruguay.

Nobody wants to lose the first game. That's been the theme so far. But starting from the 2nd game on, some teams are going to start being more ambitious or they're going home.
So I expect the games to pick up soon enough.

    Don't jinx it!

I prefer intense low scoring games instead of one-sided goalfests, so for me it's been great so far.
