I thought Spanoulis was going to be the highest paid player in Europe.
Oh, yeah....link?
Olympiacos has offer to Vassilis Spanoulis a contract that in NBA money is 3 years and $43.5 million ($14.5 million per season).
This will be highest contract in Europe. So if Spanoulis signs this contract then market for Splitter in Europe will be set. This can be maybe what he can ask for in Europe if some team will pay it like maybe Real Madrid.
Remember also in Europe not counted in the salary is a free house, free utilities, and a free car.
It seems if Splitter takes MLE to come to Spurs he is doing a huge favor for them when consider how much Spanoulis is offered in Europe.

Greeks sure know how to waste money.
Lol link.
hahahahaahahah
The offer from Olympiacos will make him the highest paid in Europe. That is what I am saying. If Spanoulis signs this contract then Splitter will be able to ask for much more in Europe than he can ask for now.
This will set market for European players MUCH higher in Europe. As it is now only Childress had got such money and he is American and came from NBA.
So this could allow Splitter to ask for much more money in Europe and maybe some team like Real Madrid can pay it to him. If Spanoulis signs with Olympiacos it would be a huge increase in this summer market in Europe for a player like Splitter.
Right now he cannot ask for more than probably what Navarro makes. But I am sure if Spanoulis does sign then with Olympiacos that Splitter then can try to get much more. I do not think he can get as much as Spanoulis but he can still get a lot more than he could have before.
So if Spanoulis goes to Olympiacos and accepts that then this can make it much harder for the Spurs to get Splitter. MLE salary will start to look very small to him.
So you're saying that for the last two years, Childress has been getting paid a salary that is nearly equivalent to an NBA max contract?
Ok
true but splitter wants to play in the nba.....
Learn math.
NBA contracts deduct 42% for federal taxes (new tax rate law in US).NBA contracts deduct 8% for local taxes. ALL players pay this even ones in Texas and Florida. Look in NBA CBA rules each player is taxed locally per game by what city.
So Spurs players pay this local tax also even though fans here lie and say they do not. It is a CBA rule that they have to pay it.
NBA contracts deduct 8% for NBA player's union fee and for NBA retirement fund. These are not optional and every NBA player must pay it and lose it from their contract.
Also NBA teams do NOT pay the agent fees of players. Agent fees are 4% and players have to pay this out of their own contract money.
62% of the NBA player's contract is deducted. NBA has gross salaries reported only.
In Europe they only report net salary. The amount after all taxes, agent fees and everything is paid for.
Childress makes very close to NBA max contract and only idiots like you are too stupid to be able to grasp that. You can go play with Mogrovejo and the other morons that cannot do simple math and that cannot read the CBA agreement of the NBA.
All NBA fans do is say stupid things like "Duncan makes 20 millions". No he does not. Because 62% of his pay he never sees.
Yes. But I do not think he will play in NBA for 1/3 the money.
Pythagoras

Great Greek mathematicians all.
Greek civil unrest
Economy in shambles
V-Span gets paid, yo!
How will he get dominated by two guys who won't even play next year? That makes no sense.
coming from a knicks fan![]()
The gingers are worse than Splitter could ever be. When would he match up with them?
To quote everyone's favorite Greek: "Lies!"
I don't see it.
Here is the link to the CBA:
http://www.nbpa.org/cba/2005
Tell me in which article I can find the rules for each city.
If there is no local income tax in Texas or Florida, why would anyone pay a tax that does not exist? So Spurs players pay this local tax also even though fans here lie and say they do not. It is a CBA rule that they have to pay it.
The only link was the one I gave where the list for taxes in cities isn't.
Because Mr. "Expert" every NBA player pays local taxes. Even the ones in Florida and Texas. Each NBA player is taxed at per city rate of each NBA team and average is 7.9%.
If you were really an NBA fan you would actually know this. Your knowledge of NBA CBA is embarrassing for someone who pretends to be such a know it all.
You're hilarious. He gave you the link to the entire CBA. Instead of spouting off your insults, why not just quote the relevant portion of the do ent and prove your point?
Did Splitter bang your wife or something?
So you don't know which article it is in, and cannot substantiate your previous claim. Got it.
Because I am right and he is an idiot. An idiot that thinks he is so smart. He is wrong every single time and acts like he is such a damn genius. Nothing is worse than morons who act so superior.
It is hilarious that on NBA message board fans do not even know the CBA rules.
But there are no local state income taxes in Texas and Florida -- so when players play in Texas and Florida, no income tax goes to those state governments.
You keep saying that. Show me where it is in the CBA. I gave you the link. Each NBA player is taxed at per city rate of each NBA team and average is 7.9%.
So educate us all. Show us where that is in the CBA. I haven't found it.If you were really an NBA fan you would actually know this. Your knowledge of NBA CBA is embarrassing for someone who pretends to be such a know it all.
