Please. The only reason the Pistons even made it to the finals was due to Wade being injured when Miami went up 3-2. Pistons caught a major break on their way to the championship round. The 2006 ECF proved that true after Miami DOMINATED Detroit in a non-dramatic 6 games. Wade had a bad sinus infection for game 6 and the Heat kicked that ass 95-78.
Sour grapes from a Laker fan that watched The Pistons sweep that Laker team ,yes a five game sweep.

............Boston or the Lakers in a championship series?

I know both have a bigger front line by a small margin..........but, we had much better outside shooters. We would kill either of these teams from the outside...........3pt line. We may have had the advantage at the point as well.
It would be a fun series to watch. Now the 99 & 03 Spurs teams would have no trouble at all. Those two teams played hard for 48 minutes. In fact it was the Spurs who knocked Kobe, Shaq & Fisher, et al out of those playoffs. I remember Kobe & Fish with tears intheir eyes and Jack Nicholson coming out on the court and congratulating Tim, David and Pop telling them the Spurs were the better team and told them to keep the trophy in the West.

Congrats to the Lakers tonight. Looking forward to the Spurs getting back in the mix. We're a couple tweaks away. C'mon over Splitter!!!

The last several NBA champions have been weaksauce. This year's Lakers only continues that trend.

Maybe I'm getting old, I don't know. But 2009 Lakers, 2010 Lakers, 2008 Celtics, heck, even 2007 Spurs . . . meh. The 2006 Heat were extraordinarily lucky that they dodged Timmy and got favorable whistles against the Mavs.

2005 Spurs were the best NBA champion of the 2000s.

The question should be why we were not there this year and if we can be there next year, 2005 is gone

agree-this a stupid debate because no position can ever be proved or disproved. it's nothing more than mental fapping. lakers won this year--get over it.

2000 and 2001 Lakers were better than 2005 Spurs. 2008 Celtics were very close to 2005 Spurs.
