That play at the half's end was NOT a 4 on 2. It was a pretty standard buildup with good position in the center of the field.

If a player takes down another player from behind without getting the ball, he's going to be booked.
If he gets a good piece of the ball, he probably won't even be called for a foul.

Bull , what would happen then is the outcome of games with controvertial calls wouldn't be decided until days or even weeks after the games ended with every team complaining they deserve the outcome overturned because of every ing technicallity. You either catch the call as it happens or you don't. OR you make it so that the ref has access to video so he ALWAYS catches wrong calls at the time they happen. Then it leaves no doubt.
Changing game results after the fact just doesn't work, no matter how much butthurt fans of teams screwed like to about it. Trust me, I know, I've been on the ing end of this argument many a time.

What I want to know is, why (or how) did slovenia go from being a very respectable, highly capable opponent, to being a travesty in soccer uniforms?
I was fully prepared to give props to them for much of the game. But now all I wish is ill upon them.
Garbage. The entire slovenian team and their managers belong in a dumpster, along with that ing ref.
I don't have a problem with FIFA not changing the results. I mean if anything Ireland has way more of a beef with this. The game changes as a result of one play and you can't go back and wipe out that one play and then act as if the rest of the game would have been the same.

@ anyone that thinks this was a rigged game. It was just another case of a ref being careless and not paying close enough attention. Its a case of bad reffing, not international conspiracy. Conspiracy therosits are so ing lame.

The ref made questionable calls on both sides the whole game. Other than the game-winning goal, I think giving the yellow card to that one player (Finley) that knocks him out of the next game was overboard and harsh. It didn't need a yellow card.
Great heart though, hope Algeria wins against England and then we beat Algeria!
Man. The USA decided to show up the second half. Completely made me forget about the first half. It is a shame that the go ahead goal was waived. It would have capped an improbable comeback.
