Kobe wins, LeBron fills stat sheets

    http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/k...m-great-061910

"But when the Cavs failed to go all the way, the retrospective wisdom in some quarters was that the team’s failures could be pinned on the newcomers.

    This is utter nonsense.

The truth is that the way LBJ plays the game makes his teammates worse instead of better. He is either incapable of, or resistant to, playing in a structured offensive system, one that isn’t primarily based on his having the ball on a string.

Forget about his assist totals. He ac ulates dimes because he’s a very good passer and because he controls the ball. But how often does LeBron deliberately throw a pass that leads to somebody else making an assist pass? Or LeBron do anything significant without the ball except making dive cuts or (seldom) settling into the low post?

On those rare occasions when it’s somebody else’s turn to go one-on-one or use a screen, LeBron usually stands idly by somewhere on the weak side. For the most part, he’s either a spectator or makes spectators of his teammates.

Until he learns how to play five-man basketball, LeBron will pile up impressive numbers and MVP trophies, but never win a championship."

I'm sure that changing Kobe and his dominating below 40% shooting for Lebron would have prevented the Lakers from winning this championship.

This is pure bull . It doesn't take into account Kobe's teammates. Give Lebron James Pau Gasol and he'd win just as much les. Compare Lebron and Kobe at 2007 and you can see Lebron wins and fills stat sheets while Kobe fills stats sheets to a lesser extent and loses....

Im referring to winning as in winning games. Kobe wouldn't have led James' 2007 team to the NBA finals.

Yall said that when he got Mo. Then Moon and Parker. Then Shaq. Then Jamison. Just shut the and watch Kobe eclipse MJ

You're probably right but don't leave out how weak the 2007 Eastern Conference was.

    +1

    This.

A lot of people don't remember how the Eastern conference finals was that year. The Bulls and Cavs were tied for that 2nd spot and all the Bulls needed was the final win against the Nets which they lost and caused them to drop to the 5th seed. It was without a doubt that the team with the second seed would have an automatic trip to the Eastern Conference finals because remember Gilbert Arenas injured his leg right before the playoffs which made him sit out the entire post season, Jason Kidd sprained his ankle in the 2nd round playoffs, so basically the Cavs just walked into the post season.

If you swap Kobe/LeBron I don't think the Cavs come back from 3-1 down (It was 3-1 right?) against Detroit.

the whole swap arguement is bull . People thought the Cavs were going to win the le in 09 and 2010 and we saw what happened. Pretty much you cant argue about swapping players cuz there are so much variables that can occur which alter results.

Lebron is the Warren Moon of the NBA. He plays in an offense where he can put up big stats(Run & Shoot), but can't lead a team to victory like Montana(Kobe) who plays in a more structured offense(West Coast), that doesn't allow for the same big numbers.

The same choke jobs that happened to Moon, happen to Lebron. Think about it.

On a side note.....how awkward would that Houston Oilers name be right about now with the ELE spill.

Yeah, it must be so tough to put up terrible stats in a game 7 and still win. Lebron can't have bad games and win. Kobe can. Stupid argument in this article imo.

It is not like Lebron is far off from having a le. It is a game of inches.

rofl, lebron didn't have pau and artest to pull him through when he failed in the clutch. gasol is currently the second best big in the league. lebron has antawn jamison who is more like top 20 and an assortment of streaky jump shooters.
