Wow, two AMAZING saves by the goalkeeper for the Swiss. The second of which has to be one of the saves of the WC thus far.
Didn't see a game thread for this, so I thought I'd start one.
Not the sexiest match up, but both teams have played well in the WC so far.

Chile may be the most offensive team in the WC. That's Bielsa's style.
I like that....could bite them in the ass though.
Winner advances!
Has it been a good game? I'm busy with Wimbledon to watch.
Pretty decent. Not a lot of attacking, but some good football.
The Swiss just got hit with a horrible yellow though, for an extremely minor jersey grab.
If Chile and Spain win today, and in the last game Spain beats Chile and Switzerland beats Honduras, Chile may still not qualify, that's why they need to win by a big difference.
Very sloppy tackle from Chile, deserved yellow.
Honduras is that bad![]()
Depends on how Spain plays from here on out. Both of these teams could advance, especially if they draw to each other.
Good counterattack by the Swiss that's cut out by a nice keeper decision.
Red card on the Swiss! Devastating. They need to hold on for the draw.
This ref is way too quick with his cards. He ed the game up already.
That should have been a yellow, but it was horribly sloppy by Behrami anyway, so he really can't complain. He had his elbow high behind him and hit the other player with it. Even if it's light contact, he should be a lot more discrete in that position.
I think the red came in because it was such a stupid play by Behrami. He was totally careless, and even if the offense wasn't egregious, it was quite sloppy and unnecessary.
Ref's too ing card happy. Swiss didn't deserve that
The way this ref is calling the game, expect one or two more reds cards in this game.
Next game destroyed by the ref
blargh
Once again we have an official that's ruining a very close, compe ive game.
And a big middle finger to the Chileans for propagating the flopping that's been so rampant this year. "Ohhh no you touched me in the face I need to act like I've been shot!"
At least players adapting, thats more acting talent than Ben Affleck and J-Lo combined
The oscar goes to...
yeah, the flopping is just ridiculous. If FIFA doesn't start doing something about it, football is going to become a joke.
Something can only be done after the match cuz I don't think there's anything Blatter can do about it on the court.
Obviously
There should be a review committee set up to look at each game. If a player over-exaggerates an injury (i.e., rolls around on the ground, getting carted off only to appear in action a few minutes later, or falls over in severe pain only to spring up after the ref cards someone), it should be an automatic one game suspension. This would encourage players to play through and not fall down even if they thought they were truly hit by another player.
If a player fakes being hit, as we saw yesterday with the Ivory Coast, it's an automatic two-game + probation, where the player will be suspended for the rest of the compe ion if he is found guilty of doing it again.
It's sad, if you watched the men's and women's World Cup right now, you would undeniably conclude that the women would be able to beat the out of the men in a brawl.
Blatter is too chicken to do anything about it. I think if he wanted to, it would already have happened
