SAN ANTONIO - If you believe the reports overseas, Tiago Splitter joining the Spurs is just a matter of time. That will be huge news for Spurs fans.
Don't expect Splitter to be quite as good as one of the all-time draft steals in history. NBA insiders are still amazed that the Spurs were able to land Manu Ginobli with the 57th pick in 1999.
Of course the Spurs have made a tradition of draft night being their night; from Tim Duncan to Manu to Tony Parker all the way up to last year with DeJuan Blair. The Spurs always seem to have a trick up their sleeve. So will they make a trade? I caught up with Manu this week and asked him about the draft

Damn, Manu talked all of a minute and a half without saying anything at all.
Pop has trained him well.
Manu played that perfect. Good job Manu![]()
If you are going to complain about something it has to be this thread le. Like Manu was ever going to give any inside![]()
Nothing wrong with what Manu said. It's the tease that is misleading, as always.
Can't see the video now, anyone got a summary? lol
Basically he said a whole lot of nothing.
its still working.
He said he doesn't pay attention to rumors and the Spurs have a good history of doing big things on draft night. He'll just wait to see what happens. So, in other words, not much...as previously reported.
Manu doesn't know what the spurs will do. The spurs may not even know until right up to draft time.
WTF? Spurs approach draft night with a plan. Of course Manu knows the plan.
How do you know Manu knows? You think the spurs tell Manu and all their playrs what they are going to do? That plan can change as the draft develops and a player falls that was not suppose to. Or the spurs may still be contemplating between two players and /or making calls to see what trades may be available.
in the past it was reported tp was in the war room
Is the war room open now? That was on draft night.
Of course the spurs have a plan but it is not set in stone who they will be drafting and that plan can change as the draft unfolds.
