While it's the classy thing to do, Koolaid_Man apologizing for that really blew his e-cred. Before the apology, he was a troll who would go to whatever means necessary to ruffle feathers and knowingly say the most obnoxious possible. There was no indication by his posts and nonstop stupidity that led me to believe he had any sort of intelligent bone in his body

Thanks, Ln. No sense in brazening it out. I can wear my heart on my sleeve here. We were in trouble after Game 5. Even before that. Pierce made the first foray into our psyche after Game 2 with the vow not to return to California. It was a brilliant tact. Pierce tried to buy it there, tried to get us to obsess & ruminate over his statement. It's what we did in the years prior to Magic's break thru in '85. West, Wilton, Kareem they'd all been mind handled by the Celtics. I'm sure Russell and Havlichek, even Ainge has went over this pathology with the current Celtics. Pierce risked nothing with that assertion. Media wouldn't dock him if it went South. & nary a word of derision has ever been spilt over it's ultimate failure.

After 4 & 5 it was over according to Media. Eastern Media rules this nation's sports pulse. They dictate the marching orders and talking points. The old "blue collar/lunch bucket" Celtics against the "gaudy Hollywood fancy pants" Lakers was even hinted at again. Again trying to buy it instead of earning it. They figured we'd lay down since Media had told us to. , I was preparing my bed. Not Luva, he told me that nobody would close us.

Boston was not Orlando. I was so hoping they'd turn out that way, but, I knew in my heart of hearts that it wouldn't be so. After condemning Bryant for trying to asshole it so many times I even one night suggested to Luva in PM that he go ahead and do that very thing in order to bring this to a close good or bad. I was weak. But, whereas in the past I was not alone, this time I was alone, thank Christ. Though Bryant did try to asshole it in the finest traditions in Game 7, Phil sat him down for a few minutes, Fish Dutch Uncled him and he & Artest did an about face, and he let Artest take him to the end.
