still looking to trade udrih for a low 1st rounder or high 2nd rounder?
same with nocioni (but he has more value to me)!
Start of the GM game. The trade with the Warriors and Blazers do not matter in this hypothetical scenario.

I predicted this coming. Add Iggy and you are set for Melo.
Carmelo for the #3 plus a player would be interesting. Anyone but Harris or Lopez I would consider.

Looking to package #25 and #28 to move up. Please let me know if you're willing to trade back and snag an extra first rounder.
So our draft is June 23 not July 23 like chieflion posted?
Here is a vote for having the entire draft tomorrow. I know of two GM's that will not be available Thursday night.
anyone trading a secondrounder for Udrih or Noce?
This may have been talked about already, but who makes the decision on whether a player picks up his option? For example, I'm the GM of the New Orleans Hornets and Darius Songaila has a player option for one more year. Ideally, I don't want him to pick up his option. But it's up to that player. I also have Peja who is set to make like $15 million so it's safe to assume he'll pick up that option because he's not going to get that type of money anywhere else. But, I think this is important for a lot of teams who are trying to get the maximum cap space possible.
Same here.
As the GM for New Jersey I need to know if Kris Humphries is going to pick up his option for next year. When does he have to make his decision? Are we going to follow what happens in real life for this?
Also, we made a qualifying offer of 3Mil to Josh Boone. When does he have to make a decision?
I also need to know how to pick up a team option on a player or not and when I need to do it by. I am looking to free up more space for free agents.
I can free up another 4.65 Mil if I don't pick up a couple of team options.
From what I understand, players will make their "decisions", be it Free Agency or Opting In, sometime on or after July 1st. These decisions will be made by the commissioner.
I believe Options must be exercised by October 31st.
I've been offered Billups, Nene and a 2nd rounder, but that aint gonna do it. Melo needs to be in the deal..
If you want Wall, you'd have to be willing to take Arenas contract..
That's the deal... I'm listening.. Just don't come rushing at once.![]()
Sorry, it is June 23, for the draft. Brainfart here.
Guys I'm gonna be with my dad's family at Disney tomorrow (and the rest of the week) until pretty late at night I'm assuming, would anybody be willing to represent my Knicks for the draft? I think I just got two second rounders.
Just send in your picks, preferably 8 players, for each pick to me, I will help you make your pick.
Chief are we just going to make picks by posting in this thread? So we should all just convene here at 3PM ET tomorrow?
6 PM ET. Chat room. The summary of the draft will be updated here so have 2 tabs of Spurstalk, one for the chat room, the other one for this thread.
Thank you, just did.
Good morning! Trade agreed upon; submitting for league approval:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMa...radeId=2fwxygz
Nuggs get:
#4 pick
Al Jefferson
Corey Brewer
Ryan Gomes
Wolves get:
Nuggs' 2011 2nd round pick
Renaldo Balkman
Aaron Afflalo
Carmelo Anthony
Yep, power shift in the Western Conference.
A blockbuster deal a few hours before the draft.
The Nuggets and Timberwolves have agreed on a deal that has been approved. The Nuggets will send 3-time All-Star, Carmelo Anthony to the Timberwolves for Al Jefferson and the 4th pick of the 2010 NBA draft. The rest of the trade includes Corey Brewer and Ryan Gomes of the Wolves, Renaldo Balkman and Aaron Afflalo of the Nuggets, who will swap teams. The Timberwolves also receive an unprotected 2011 2nd round pick.
how are we handling the trades, that need to have the FA's beeing FA's already? are we waiting for the first of july to do them?
wow...although I have to say, that the trade is ok, I dont see it happening in real life (especially coz the Timberwolves get Melo, which wouldnt stay for long, while including a high draftpick and not e.g. the rights to Rubio, to solve their PG-lockdown)
but I guess, thats just like those games work: every GM is new to his team and like in real life, mist new GM's or owners have a different idea of their product, than their predecessor. (its not like I'm not tradehappier, than SAC should be)
btw.: dont know, if I mentioned it, but Noce or Udrih can be had for low 1strounders or upper half 2ndrounders!![]()
Yes. 1st July. A prime example would be Richard Jefferson's ETO clause.
