You caught me
One-liner, eh? Somehow I think you're trying to pull a fast one. I like it.![]()
You caught me
I've had my nose so far up the ass of the NBA Draft, that I completely missed this entire thread. That is, until I saw the miniature medal and wondered what it was. Too bad. I probably could've padded the votes of some of favorite posters.
Well said, Duncan228. uva job by you BlackJack for stringing this thing together. It HAD to be a lot of man-hours and effort on your part. A gift certificate for the Preparation H is on its way to you.
And to everyone else who makes this forum a MUST-SEE and MUST-READ for all matters Spurs-related, a big ol'.
That said, I'd like to thank my mom and dad, the academy...![]()
This was pretty fun, honestly. I had two diff teams, a Politics team and an NBA team, because that's where I tend to post the most.
We don't need no stinkin' badges.
Yes, well, in psychology they have a word for that.Although now I feel the need to turn it into the biggest signature on this board.
Only honorable mention? I must be slipping.
Or we need to get some more Club representation next year.
Thanks for the kind words to all of you.
I agree with Harlem. I also found it extremely difficult to pin down just 15 nominees. It was fun though.![]()
If I was thinking straight, I'd go back home, find a used trailer, buy a deep fryer and some Oreos. Problem is, this is the only thing I ever felt good doing. If I'm not good doing this, then I got nothing.
That enough truth to suit you?
lmao jeeze.. i didnt even get a mention
congrats to the winners
Better late than never . . .
Emerging from the shadows in 2008, a member since 2007, this individual burst on to the scene with an in-depth report of 2008's Rocky Mountain Review. It proved to be a Spur-worthy contribution, one that would etch his name immediately into the SpursTalk landscape.
Since that fateful first report, this poster has consistently brought top-notch contributions and displayed a willingness to learn and improve upon his knowledge for all things NBA, even when little was needed. He stays above the fray and presents himself affably, cordially and without pretension. He contributes to the discussion with an enthusiasm and attention to detail; a concise delivery with little wasted movement. He's a calm, cogent presence that manages to be heard no matter the noise, and he manages to do so with a healthy amount of humor and tact.
He's a first-class poster, a member of All-SpursTalk's Third Team and a breath of fresh air to the SpursTalk community. He's simply a testament to Raising the Bar. His name is lurker23, SpursTalk's 2010 Sportsman of the Year.
Congratulations, lurker23!
This poster has been a member of SpursTalk since 2003. A member of All-SpursTalk's Second Team and one of SpursTalk's most respected posters for his quick wit, intelligence and love for the message board volley, he's made a name for himself like few others. He's become the the board's go-to-guy for Austin Toros and D-League news, always managing to keep SpursTalk's posters up to speed on the comings and goings of their team's D-League affiliate.
This man is Teflon. He's rubber to your glue. His counter-punching style would make Floyd Mayweather proud. His message board jiu-jitsu could very well give Gracie a run for his black belt. No one turns defense to offense better or exploits a sloppy attack when the opportunity presents itself. No one. The award could very well don his name and there's no doubt his presence goes hand-in-hand with Raising the Bar.
He'll send your weak stuff to the second row, lock you up if you don't come correct, and he'll simply weather the storm until you've run out of steam. His name is ChumpDumper, SpursTalk's 2010 Defensive Poster of the Year.
Congratulations, ChumpDumper!
A member since 2005, this poster has set the standard for knowledge and knowhow of NBA finance. Simply put, he's the board's resident capologist. A member of All-SpursTalk's First Team, he co-founded the board's Think Tank in 2009, alongside Marcus Bryant, and has since been the biggest reason for its continued success and growth -- he's been the forum's lifeblood, putting unheard of time, focus and energy into making it one of this board's truly unique and useful assets.
When he posts, you take the time to read. When you feel the need to respond or take umbrage, you're forced to come with your best (unless you don't mind being made to look foolish). His mere presence succeeds in defining the mission statement: Raising the Bar.
He hails from France, and you're not going to find a better usage of the words "damn" or "quite." His name is Bruno, SpursTalk's 2010 Most Valuable Poster.
Congratulations, Bruno!![]()
Rookie of the Year is on deck and hopefully the Double Downs will get going shortly after.
And thanks again to Pistons < Spurs.![]()

Wow...I don't know what to say. Thank you Blackjack (and P<S). I'm humbled. In more ways than one, I will try my best to live up to the mighty stature that is David Robinson, and continuously aim to Raise The Bar.
Just keep on keepin' on, lurker23. ... Just keep on keepin' on.![]()
Again I am humbled an embarrassed.
The only thing I can do request is that the picture be changed to Bruce's kicking someone in the face.
C'mon, now, Chump. You know there's a distinct difference between "kicking someone in the face" and having a midair "slip-of-foot." Happens all the time -- and I'll see what I can do . . .
congrats to the winners..
and those trophies are clean!!
Hopefully I'll be able to size them down (just the actual trophy) so they can go in their sig or find a way to display something under their avatar.
lol....I got nominated?
Or in this case, it's gotta be the sig.![]()
I'm sure that unreal, real-doll-lookin' apple you've got displayed had something to do with it.![]()
CD a defender?
Agree me not!
Thanks for the award, Blackjack.![]()
You try to score points on him . . .
Well, deserved, Bruno. This whole thing has been about Raising the Bar for the past year and there's been no one to do it more so than you.![]()
Wow, congrats to all on your fake awards!
