lol @ Lakers fan talking about horrible officiating.
Jesus ing christ. The World Cup is a ing disgrace.
Soccer is the BIGGEST sport in the world and these ing morons can't even implement a simple instant replay. ING tennis has instant replays.
What a disgrace, FIFA officials making these decisions should be hung. It's only a matter of time before a critical Final's game is decided by an idiotic ref call.
lol @ Lakers fan talking about horrible officiating.
Yes, they are bad and all the refs from the main one to the sidelines suck...
Why the do you have a problem with NBA referring? Did you ask for a reference verifying the championship you think you just won and you're pissed you got laughed at? Be specific with the thread Jeff!
OP is Mexican and he's pissed that their team lost to Argentina.
I guess you forgot the English goal.
lol stinky mexi
Or the goal that was not counted that should have given the US a win in the second game after trailing 0-2.
The referring is disgusting yeh. So many missed and wrong calls, all those cameras around to do ente the failiures, and they still wont let referees look at the replays. Its just beyond stupid, and a diservice to the sport.
It matters more in soccer since goals are so scarce. In basketball, scoring happens so frequently that better teams are often able to rise to the top in spite of a poor officiating.
At least the announcers ream the refs without penalty, unlike the NBA.
you're just now figuring that out?
Unfortunately, I just don't understand the off-sides rules enough to criticize their calls. Apparently I witnessed a blown call in the RSA-MEX game and in a couple of the USA games... All issues with the Off Sides rule...
Really? Offsides is a lot easier to understand than traveling is.
What's pathetic is that soccer is the one sport that needs instant replay the most and also the one sport where instant replays would be minimally intrusive to the flow of the game.
Refs will never be as bad as the refs in basketball. lol at Laker fan trying to change our mind. I think the refs swallow Kobe's .
Part of the issue is they have a field bigger than an NFL field, with just as many players and more possibilities for infractions, yet have fewer officials reffing the game.
This is an easy fix. Which, coincidentally, is what the refs were thinking before the two games today.
If the ref merely decides it's not a goal then it's not a goal. No questions, no replays, no comments. Seems like the easiest system to rig ever. That nullified goal against England today was the biggest load of bull I've seen... since the nullified goal against us last week.
I didn't mean that it is a fundamentally difficult rule to understand. I just don't know (perhaps understand was not the right synonym) the rule, nor the application of it's invocation that caused lots of goals to be nullified and referees to be 'dismissed'.
Traveling seems like a simple concept, it is just never enforced at the pro level...
The south American refs suck. Australia had terrible officiating in their first two group games. Robbed of a spot in the final 16, Ghana got very lucky.
Last WC Elizondo had the best performance ever for a ref and this year Baldassi is beign one of the best so you're talking out of your ass.
