Booharv isn't comparing him to any of those guys , but he needs to understand when mav krew is in troll mode it's not the right time to have serious basketball discussion
tbh it's like watching Andy Kaufman (who didn't break character for like a decade) at work.

Mavs, Cavs, Haywood And Shaq: What's Cookin'?

The newspaper beat writer who best knows Cleveland is writing about a Brendan Haywood/Shaq sign-and-trade from information given him by Cavs sources.
The network beat writer who best knows Dallas is writing about a Brendan Haywood/Shaq sign-and-trade from information given him by Mavs sources.
Me? My understanding is that while the cooking ingredients are right, they are not meant to be cooked up into the same stew. ... Something else Mavs/Cavs must be cooking. Yeah, maybe Cleveland slams down the phone as Dallas keeps inquiring about LeBron. But believe me, Dallas slams down the phone, too, if Cleveland is calling to ask for a starting center in exchange for a backup one.
    I have no doubt that:
    a) The Mavs and Cavs have talked about various trade ideas, and sign-and-trade ideas.
    b) At some point in this process, Haywood might be used by Dallas as a sign-and-trade tool.
    c) We’ve been right all along (for, like years) in reporting that Shaq wants to play with Dallas, his “favorite NBA city.’’
Those are the cooking ingredients … Haywood … Shaq. … a sign-and-trade … Cleveland ace reporter Brian Windhorst has those right. But when ESPN ace reporter Marc Stein counters by saying that Dallas sources tell him there is “no chance’’ Haywood is S-n-T’ed for Shaq, he’s got that right, too.
The ingredients are right. … Haywood … Shaq. … a sign-and-trade … But they are not meant to be cooked up into the same stew.
Shaq can end up in Dallas, but not at a high cost to the Mavs. Haywood can end up in Cleveland (or elsewhere, as he is clearly coveted by other NBA teams), but not in a complexity-free swap with Shaq.
The Mavs and Cavs have talked about various trade ideas, and sign-and-trade ideas, and if they haven’t talked about LeBron James, then neither organization is doing its job. (Indeed, upon further review: When Windhorst writes of a "double-Sign-and-Trade'' ... what is that? "Double'' meaning two players in exchange for two players? Who else on the Cavs roster would Dallas covet?)
Talking about LeBron James – as much of a longshot the Mavs might be, as much as the Cavs want to retain him and have insisted they won’t sign-and-trade – that’s what’s cooking.

Dejuan Blair is like a combination of Moses Malone and Charles Barkley, except better than both those players combined.

considering last season's ridiculous " the future" contract given to shawn marion, maxing out Joe Johnson really isn't all that bad.

    the future.
Dude, JJ would get like 3 times more than Marion. And Marion played a really nice underrated season. His contract is okay, just one year too long so its like 8 mio too much. Max for JJ is way too much AND too long, thats like 1-2 years too much and like 40-50 million too much

And i agree, i wouldnt trade Roddy for JJ sitting on a max deal.

Mike Fisher (the guy who runs dallasbasketball.com) is a D-Bag cheerleader for the Mavericks who cashes a check from 103.3, the Mavericks station. Mr. Fisher is a loyal, biased lapdog for the Mavericks who has a lot higher opinion of himself and the Mavericks than anyone else.

His lousy website just couldn't wait to post (on the night of the draft) how the great Mavericks coach and his scouts had their 1st draft pick (Jones) rated higher than James Anderson. Fisher's envy and hate of the Spurs shines through in just about everything he does.

The only reason he has a part time radio gig now (he was out of work for years after KLIF changed its format and dropped sportstalk) is because by contract he has to wear a MFFL T-shirt or a Mavericks dancer outfit 24 hours a day.

Considering he hasn't done so far, you must've meant the other way around
Blair did drop 27 pts and 23 rebs on the Mavericks in a game last year. Remember?

Haha, it's true. I post often at DB.com, so I am not complaining, but Fisher is a Mavs homer. Can you blame him thought? That's how he make his living.

In what basically amounted to a preseason game since both teams didn't want to give anything away on film for an upcoming playoff series.

Mavs would be stupid as to trade 4-5 years of Haywood for 1 year of Shaq. They can't get Dwight Howard, Andrew Bogut or Al Horford, so a Haywood/Gortat combo would be pretty good.

I don't have any interest in Shaq at all except for the vet minimum and 15 minutes per game.

He also had 28 pts/21 rebs vs OKC in January. There's the 23 pts/22 rebs he had during the Rookie Challenge but I don't think anyone takes those All-Star events seriously so it's not as impressive.

    Nice try.

Last thing the Mavs need is a skinny jumpshooter, they need a slasher. Spurs dont need another slasher, they need shooter.

So even a monkey can see why the Mavs had Jones above Anderson. And why the Spurs had Anderson over Jones.

Its not who is better, it was all about who is the better FIT for the team.

That game he had against OKC was a fluke matchup win. He scored almost all of his points off putbacks because OKC had no one to counter and box out his fatness.

The window left is 2-3 years. Beyond that doesn't matter. Get the best group to win in the next 2-3 years and that's all. Nobody cares how bad the team will suck when Dirk is past his prime. Maximize what you have in Dirk's last prime years.

Joe Johnson helps the Mavericks more in the immediate future than Roddy Beaubois does. Who gives a what he's being paid, Cuban is the guy who writes the checks, not you.

this is exactly how to look at this trade, if mavs want to prepare the future this trade doesn't make sense at all, if mavs think their best shot is now, they have to go for it.

Other factor is if dirk walked away, I think chances to win the in the near future are very low so you keep beautifulwood
