Channing Frye has had a Bret Saberhagen like rotation of bad years with good years. He's been solid rotation player like every other year for his whole career. Take a look at his PER:

    2005-06: 18.12
    2006-07: 10.50
    2007-08: 14.62
    2008-09: 10.09
    2009-10: 15.09

God forbid the Suns be a well run team that locks Amare up before he visits Miami and New York, says thanks but no thanks to Frye, and now can focus on using their MLE to fill in holes and trading Brickbosa. Amare handed them the ability to lock him up early without adding a final year so they would be able to focus on addressing weaknesses in free agency, of course Sarver decided to throw that opportunity away so a team that currently doesn't have a GM would have its hands full when free agency starts.

Instead Sarver and Gentry just wasted a bunch of time trying to get Amare to take a 4 year deal he was never gonna agree to while ignoring a bunch of other stuff that coulda been addressed. Did Sarver ever consider it might have been smart to hire a GM before free agency started? Did either Sarver or Gentry consider maybe finding a suitor for Barbosa on draft night? It's like a bunch of in 5th graders with ADD run the Suns.

Classic rant post. It really is incredible that Sarver rejects the obvious benefits of retaining the services of a competent, professional basketball expert.

So he's from two countries that pretend to be French.

Lefty, you're pretty fluent in French, right.

Funny thing is that's gonna cost him money in the long run (unfortunately thinking long run isn't Sarver's thing). Yeah, you're not gonna immediately see the benefit of satisfying a GM's needs who he can cut costs while improving the team like Kerr did. In two years Sarver is gonna regret it when he has Channing Frye's bloated contract on his roster and the coach that pushed for that contract is gone.

Horrible move by the Suns. Frye shouldn't get more than 2 mil per year. Actually even that's too high for that choking dog.

I agree, 2mil per year is the limit I'd pay him. Fortunately the he saved the Suns from their stupidity. He rejected the 25mil offer and the Suns told him no in way we're going higher than that.....hopefully he finds a new team dumb enough to give him that deal.

Hopefully the Suns pull that offer off the table then. If not he'll be back. I guarantee it.

That's the question. He officially rejected the 25mil offer, that better mean Sarver and Gentry take it off the table and don't allow him to come back and sign it when he flops in the open market.

The Suns upped their offer from $25 million to $30 million on Thursday, and Frye accepted those terms tonight.
