? how do you "make progress" on a max deal. shouldn't this be a fairly simple negotiation?
"we'll give you a max contract"

It's gonna be funny if he ends up with the Knicks and Lebron ends up with the Nets.
no surprise
reunite with d'antoni, big bucks, away from PHX
please Knicks do it, save the Nets from going after him and overpaying for him

Knicks and Amar'e Stoudemire in serious talks on 5 year, max contract; Deal could come as soon as Friday. http://tinyurl.com/2d8yzp9

Knicks and Stoudemire working on 5-year deal worth nearly $100 million, sources say. Another team chasing Amar'e believes he's off board.
He no longer has the option of playing with Nash in Phoenix, next best place to put up STATS will be with d'Antoni in NY.
With it all likely that the Knicks won't get guys like LeBron, Wade, or Joe Johnson on the wings, if the Knicks are able to acquire Amare, they should just try to re-sign David Lee and pick up a couple of stopgap perimeter players who might play well under D'Antoni like Luke Ridnour or Chris Douglas Roberts (if they can be had for cheap short-term deals, although with the way free agency is going they might want big longterm deals as well), and then when Eddy Curry's contract expires next year, go back at it with Carmelo and Tony Parker.
I can tell DoK hasn't read this post yet. I see 5 pages coming.
No I'm fairly used to Mel_13's stupid bull that makes Steve Nash out to be a god.
If Amare can get max, anyone can.
Btw IronMexican's obsession with me is a bit strange.
under the radar. CP3 is on his way to NY. stay tuned.
You've got me confused with someone else. I've never participated in any of those Nash debates.
My point here is that he would be in line for much more money right now if had not signed that extension. That's fairly obvious.

If not for all the assists Nash dished from his couch in Phoenix, no in way Amare scores 30 pounts in this^ game!
I'm just a very obsessive and dramatic person :faint
I'm not sure what your point is. You don't think Amare wanted to keep playing with Nash?
I think he did but I think Amare is still an AS caliber player who averages well over 20 PPG without Nash.
Where did I say he wasn't?
Just pointed out that by reuniting with D'antoni, he improves his chances for continued success.
The Knicks wasted half a decade getting ready for 2010, and now their centerpiece is going to be a guy who doesn't play defense and couldn't win a le while surrounded by the best PG of this generation and a bunch of other very talented parts?? Un- in-believable.
