Oh, so you must be referring to the part about the director. Well, the guy also directed 30 Days of Night, which was half-decent as far as vampire flicks go. Not great by any means, but better than some. Perhaps it would have been more to your liking had I stated, "... who has some experience within the creature genre."

I disagree somewhat. I understand that the first director (or two, not sure) didn't have good material to work with - the books are hardly great literature. I'm just saying that the previous director(s) took crappy material and turned it into something absolutely sh*tty, while this director took the same crappy material and turned it into something tolerable.

Wife dragged me to it Saturday. Thank god we went to Alamo drafthouse were I could drink beer. The first half reminded me of the morning soap operas my mom used to watch with worse acting. The second half was pretty funny and I was literally lol'ing. I was the only one though so that was probably just my buzz kicking in.
