I'm curious. When white people are in a private setting with other white people, do they use the N-word when talking about black people?
A long while back, I walked in on a friend who was chillin with his white friends and I heard him say the N word. He seemed more hurt about it than I was and apologized to me. It didnt bother me, I was just surprised as since we got along great.
Is this the norm in white settings?
I thought everyone used racial slurs. They're hilarious.

The closet I've heard to an epithet in black settings is "white boy". I've never heard of the use of "cracker" or "honky" or anything like that.
I say it front of black people
In general, I would say most white people don't say that word at all.
When I'm around other white people I use it casually and jokingly, for instance saying "sup " as if we were both black guys. IMO there's a difference between the word " " and "######", and I never use the word ######.

I'm also a special case so don't consider my behavior typical white person behavior. This one black guy I was friends with in high school had a thing where he'd great me with a Jewish slur and I'd great him with a racial slur whenever we saw each other. It was similar to the barber and the main character in the movie Gran Torino.

Another thing that sparked my curiousity about this is that when movies tries to be realistic as possible, the people would have to say the N word when talking about black people.
This is especially true with Martin Scorsese movies. I was surprised when Jack Nicholson didnt say the N word in Departed though. I was waiting for it then I was like "huh?" lol

I'll say it when I'm mocking conservatives. For example, I might say something like, 'Sarah Palin dreams of a world where an uppity ###### wouldn't even dream of running for president.'
