University of Phoenix is about advancing education?![]()
This thread wasn't making fun of Lebron, it was making fun of someone who seriously thinks Lebron put together that decision special last night for no reason greater than wanting to help a charity ()

University of Phoenix is about advancing education?![]()
BaselineBum, what's the story behind this University of Phoenix thing?
It's a pathetic for-profit school. A disgrace to education that makes a living off of scamming the government out of federal student aid as if it were a real college.
Check this report PBS Frontline did about schools like the University of Phoenix, Everest, etc. It paints a really ugly picture

I know what University of Phoenix is I was asking what that has to do with Lebron's charity donation.
Did you watch it last night? I wish I could say I didn't, but it was way too good of a train-wreck for me to pass up. He gave away scholarships to that piece of and basically made the ESPN spectacle into an ad for those low-lifes.
Did you read the thread? UofP sponsored his event last night and also gave him 5 scholarships to give to children, to "touch" them if you will.
I wasn't paying much attention to it last night, missed the part about that. Anyone who associates with that school is a greedy POS.
it's for the children, DoK...think about the children
University of Phoenix blows. And they call you on the f'ing weekends at 8 in the morning if you happen to even click on their website.![]()

I'm pretty sure you'd have to be stupid enough to also give them your phone number.
LeBron James Event Expected to Generate More Than $2.5 Million in Support of Boys & Girls Clubs
ATLANTA, July 8 -- Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) is grateful to LeBron James for his choosing Boys & Girls Clubs as the beneficiary of the generous support generated by his exciting announcement. LeBron is a long-time supporter of BGCA and our Clubs around the country, and has served as a great role model for our many young people who follow his life and career. Tonight's event is expected to generate more than $2.5 million, which will provide needed support for youth programs and the building and refurbishment of vital facilities at local Boys & Girls Clubs.
BGCA also thanks our local affiliate in Greenwich, Connecticut, the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich, for hosting the event. 2010 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich, making this Club one of the oldest and most venerable youth organizations in the nation.
"We are delighted the public will see such a great example of what our 4,000 Clubs provide every day to communities across the country, and on U.S. military bases worldwide," said Roxanne Spillett, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. "We congratulate the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich on their century of service to young people, and thank them for representing all our Clubs by hosting this special evening."
At Boys & Girls Clubs, our slogan is "Great Futures Start Here," because of the life-changing, character-building guidance and mentorship that Clubs provide to young people. As LeBron James announces the game plan for his "Great Future," we are delighted to partner with him, and on behalf of all our children and teens in Clubs nationwide, we wish him the very best in the years ahead.
What is interesting is that the show actually brought in about 6 mil. So you have to wonder where the last 3.5 mil is now.
Do you really have to wonder?
Yes, since all the proceeds where supposed to be going to the BGOA.
Friggen idiot is too stupd to realize you were bashing him and not Lebron. HarlemHobag getting his stupid on! Classic!!!!
, do these losers prey on the military like the payday loan bags?
Eric Stangel, the head writer and executive producer for The Late Show with David Letterman, delivered an equally scathing review on Twitter: "I'm keeping my 2 yr old up to watch the LeBron James Special. I want her to see the exact moment our society hit rock bottom."
