Dirk has no choice but to stay. We are slowly building a championship team. By straying away from the young unproven guys like Wade, LeBron, and Jefferson, instead we are taking a better approach and loading up our team with veteran savvy players.
Our first target was Jermain O'Neal. The veteran savvy he brings to the table would of been something we liked, we didn't get him, but hey it happens.
LeBron was offered straight up for JJ Barea. This is an example of silence not being inactivity. LeBron is a pretty gifted player and he'll be a nice player someday but he doesn't bring Barea's veteran savvy and experience to the table. Our biggest move though, was probably holding on to Dampier. He is gonna be the cornerstone of the franchise for years. A dominant 6th man who's veteran savvy carries throughout the team and down to the D-League
Roddy Beaubois is also ready to emerge as our 13th man. Hopefully we can play him about a minute a week in hopes that maybe someday he can develop the same veteran savvy that will carry us to the le this season

Both Dirk and Nash are deserving of a championship but will never get one. At least Dirk won a game in the Finals. Dirk is and has always been a more humble classy guy than Lebron and a lot of players in the NBA. Tim Duncan is the same way too. I don't know what it is but some of these young players in the NBA are just really y selfish classless s. It's good that loyalty and class still exist in the NBA. Props to Dirk and Duncan.

Lebron made an attempt, I'll give him that, but realized that he's not a truly great compe ive players. He's Scottie Pippen 2.0, he wants to be the sidekick to D-Wade and coast his way to les.

Kobe was frustrated because the FO was not surrounding him with remotely decent talent. Smush Parker, Kwame Brown, Luke Walton...I can go on here. His teams never had a snowball's chance in of winning and it did not seem like the FO was legitimately doing everything they could to put a winner around him. He had every right to be upset and want to leave that situation. I didn't like the way he went about it, but he certainly had a valid reason for wanting to leave.
Lebron's teams in the last two seasons have had the best regular season record of any team. Say what you will, but clearly they can't be that bad if they can amass 60+ wins. Furthermore, it was clear the Cavs were doing everything they could to surround James with talent. They went over the cap, and legitimately tried to attract every big name FA they could get to come play with Lebron.
Two totally different situations. Kobe would NEVER walk away from a challenge the way Lebron just did. He may have wanted out of LA at one point, but he would never join a superstar cast to be the #2 option. That's the difference between the two, now please remove Lebron's out of your mouth.
Plus, Lebron's heart was never fully in Cleveland. Good luck drawing free agents and/or elite head coaching to Cleveland when free agents and coaches are watching Lebron chillin' with Jay-Z and CC Sabathia while wearing a Yankees cap and creating as much buzz about 2010 free agency as possible. We all know Tom Izzo takes that job if he knew Lebron was there long term. If Lebron showed the commitment Kobe showed, Cleveland woulda been able to get quality free agents like Ron Artest at a discount because it was a guarantee they'd be playing with Lebron. Instead, they had to overpay for whatever free agents they could bring in because said free agents were worried about the risk of life on the Cavs after Lebron.
Fine by me...woke up Jerry Buss and got Gasol for Kwame Brown...dropped Smush Parker for Derek Fisher...traded Brian Cook for Trevor Ariza.
