Forlan for best player of the tournament?
I think at least he should be Bronze ball... IMO at least top 3... he led an inferior team to this instances while Villa and Sjneider are surrounded by stars

    is there gold/silver/bronze ball?

if so I agree with you: Forlan should be at least 3rd with a good chance to go higher!

If Snejder or Villa realy suck tomorrow, Özil or Schweinsteiger could sneak in...but not over Forlan!

Müller for best young player should be a lock now!

yeah...that game would have went a totally different direction with mor at stackes than bronze medal.

we didn't even play our best players.

I also think uruguay would have played more defensively...not sure, if thats good or bad for germany!

He should but as he gets the youngster trophy, he will take the backseat to Özil/Schweini for MVP.

Müller has 5 goals and at least 2 more cups, interesting.
and he isnt even the center striker.

but I think it will be hard to get the 15 goals of ronaldo for any player (except, if one plays 4 worldcups, coz player will play longer with nutrition and so on):
in previous years there have been pretty easy opponents...e.g. the saudi arabia game in 2002 where close scored 3 goals in a 8:0 showcase...in the future it will be hard to get 3 goals in one game and not even owning half of the teams goals!

Müller has 5 goals and 2 or even 3 cups ahead...i can see him beating Ronaldo. Villa has one cup left.

You can't just assume that Muller will score 5 goals per WC, you don't even know if 4 years from now he will remain at this level. Look at Messi's example, who would have thought that he would go scoreless this WC?

They are but, barely beat Uruguay is funny, kinda sad after everyone praised them!
You know that this was the 2nd team they played with, right? Some of the best players wer not even playing.

    ----------------------------------------------------------

Congrats to the really good 4th place to Uruguay!

All in all I am really pleased with the tournament. It was good to develop the young players... especially the Ghana game helped to let the grow under pressure. I think this team can be something special within the next 2-6 years.

    Müller 20
    Özil 21
    Khedira 23
    Boateng 22
    Badstuber 21
    Kroos 20
    Schweinsteiger 25
    ...

I hope Löw stays and keeps developing the team. I was really sad after the Spain loss but all in all losing to the EC champ and maybe even the later WC is really okay. This team has his best years ahead of it.

Uruguay is overrated. I may come off as a hater or whatever, but that couldve easily been Chile/Mexico/USA/Paraguay in the semis if those teams had had the same road. Uruguay didnt face an elite team until the semis and proceeded to lose those games. They deserve praise but this notion that theyre the best team from Conmebol or even close to being the best is re ed.

They had the chance of going through that road, Mexico by qualifying first in the group (they lost to Uruguay) and USA by beating Ghana.
