I really hope this isn't true. Ilgauskas is one of those few guys who has spent his whole NBA career with one team. I'd hate to see a guy who will get his jersey retired in Cleveland tarnish his reputation with the fans by trying to ride James' coattails in Miami.
I understand your point of view, but at the same time, shouldn't Cav fans want Ilgauskas to win a le?..he obviously can't win one with Cleveland anymore..
Maybe initially hated like when Avery Johnson became head coach of the Mavs but he still got his jersey retired even though the Mavs were a hot ticket ...doubt anyone cares as much years down the road then again Cleveland Cavs are run by a guy with no class and they only seem to remember their sports failures. I wonder if Ferry quit not only because he thought LeBron was leaving but due to Cavs ownership's antics.

The Spurs retiring Avery Johnson's Jersey is what a disgrace. I don't care about the community bull . Players, and i mean great players (actually HOF players) should have their jersey's retired, and not some Avery Johnson or Sean Eliot kind of players.
He needs to do something for the kids first IMO. You can't just jump ship without raising any money for the kids.
Z was never the self proclaimed King of Cleveland, he's not leaving them in his prime, he didn't milk his free agency to hype up his "brand" and he didn't go on national TV to take a on all Cavs fans.
