You know that this was the 2nd team they played with, right? Some of the best players wer not even playing.
first take your homer glasses off. Then realize that 2 and maybe even 3 of Germany's goals were thanks to the Uruguay goalkeeper.

that goalkeeper is a piece of ing garbage and cost Uruguay the game.

Uruguay would have won easy 3-1 with a decent goalkeeper.

    Müller 20
    Özil 21
    Khedira 23
    Boateng 22
    Badstuber 21
    Kroos 20
Schweinsteiger 25 (allready 2 WC and 2 EC)
    Podolski 25 (2 EC 2 WC)
    Lahm 26 (2 EC 2 WC)
    Mertesacker 25 (1 EC 2 WC)
    Marin 21

I hope Löw stays and keeps developing the team. I was really sad after the Spain loss but all in all losing to the EC champ and maybe even the later WC is really okay. This team has his best years ahead of it.
Its not all the young talent 20-23, its also the main players 25-26 with the experience of 30+ players...

From this team just Klose and Friedrich will mess probably the next WC due to age (36 and 35)

uruguay is overrated. I may come off as a hater or whatever, but that couldve easily been chile/mexico/usa/paraguay in the semis if those teams had had the same road. Uruguay didnt face an elite team until the semis and proceeded to lose those games. They deserve praise but this notion that theyre the best team from conmebol or even close to being the best is re ed.
    +1

Uruguay earned his spot in this WC, I will say it once again, Mexico and USA had the chance of going through Uruguay's path they just couldn't do it and against Holland I think Uruguay deserved to win, they outplayed the Dutch even though they were missing several players due to injuries and suspensions, and they lost thanks to a bad call, so I don't know how can anyone say they're overrated, they may not be the 4th best team in the World but they're definitely among the bunch that can fight for the upper places, as they have shown during this tournament.

    you answerd your question yourself!

dont want to take anything away from them...its just the way the WC works...I just think, that Brazil, Argentina and maybe one or two other countries would have made the semis over them, if they got lucky and got that road. To tell the truth all of these 4 teams (SoutKorea, USA, Ghana, Uruguay) where pretty much on the same level and Uruguay had a lot of luck.

I like the team...especially Forlan...I was also happy when they made the semis(maybe have been one of only a few germans, that even was for Uruguay against the Africans)! But if someone tells me, that they are the 4th best team in the world, then I have a problem with that.
