In the other news, Turiaf signed for the knicks
I completely agree that they have fallen off drastically - and I sometimes feel sorry for them thinking how differently things could have turned out had they not drafted Darko. They have begun (at least in their eyes) rebuilding by bringing in Gordon and Villanueva last year and drafting Monroe this year. They still need to sign some quality vets for leadership and Wallace was their absolute best option for that. I'm not saying that he will make the All Star team or get votes for DPOY, but if he plays anything like he did last year the Pistons just got a pretty good bargain.
In the other news, Turiaf signed for the knicks
Wasn't he included in the David Lee S&T and didn't he have 2 years remaining on his contract?
with kelenna and randolph yeah
apparently the nets hope Petro to sign a 3 years 10 M$

Nets and Jordan Farmar discussing 3 year deal, but front office and reps say they've yet to agree on money. "Far from done," one side says.
and some other FA buzz

Why do you say that? If it was set, wouldn't the deal be done?
Okay. I was just confused when you stated that he "signed" with the Knicks. He wasn't a FA and really had no choice in the trade.
LOL KahnTimberwolves looking to trade Sessions
After signing Ramon Sessions(notes) to a four-year, $16 million contract a year ago, Minnesota Timberwolves general manager David Kahn is trying to unload the guard to teams able to absorb his salary, league executives told Yahoo! Sports.
“They’re basically looking for a salary dump,” said an executive with a team who spoke to Minnesota. “That won’t be easy.”
Kahn’s plan this time?
Trying to sign point guard Luke Ridnour(notes) to an identical four-year, $16 million contract, league sources said.
Still, Ridenour has shown little interest with the T’wolves, sources said, and seems willing to wait for a more compelling offer. What’s unclear is how this would affect Minnesota with Jonny Flynn(notes) as the starting point guard and the rights to Spain’s Ricky Rubio(notes), who could come to the NBA after the 2010-11 season.
Minnesota has also shown serious interest with free-agent point guard Shaun Livingston(notes), sources said.

Give me Webster and we'll see what we can figure out with regards to Sessions -- ya know there's another point guard out there that could be occupying his spot.![]()

Email Print The Memphis Grizzlies have reached agreement with free-agent guard Tony Allen on a three-year, $10 million contract, a league source told Yahoo! Sports.
Allen averaged 6.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 54 games last season for the Boston Celtics and was an effective defender against Kobe Bryant during the NBA Finals.
The Memphis Commercial Appeal first reported Allen’s agreement.

Slight conflict of interest there surely...Turkoglu is represented by Lon Babby, who leagues sources have said will be the next leader of the Suns' basketball operations. Until recently, Childress was represented by Babby's agency before he switched to Octagon.

The Suns will send a 2012 second-round pick to Atlanta. Wizards, Spurs and Jazz tried to get involved with Childress, sources say.

A bit surprising the Suns went after Childress seeing as how his former agent Lon Babby is being considered as Suns next Gm.
Did anyone else hear about RJ getting a 4 year deal with the 4th year not guaranteed. Someone told me this was on the local news with the Splitter announcement to come on Monday.
why couldn't anyone have been interested in RJ for a trade exception, those things are gold this year
Damn, would have loved to get Childress from the Hawks, He'd help with guarding guys like Dirk and Odom.
Please someone confirm this! If the Spurs can get away with RJ on a deal only guaranteed for three years I would be happy at this point.
Caveat: If the deal is worth so much per year that it makes a Parker extension unlikely, I wouldn't like the deal even for 3 years.
Childress is a nice guy. But he's going to get 6.7M and Suns is sending part of their trade exception to Atlanta. We don't have any and we couldn't make that trade.

Apparently the Raptors will also receive Jones, then ship him to the Bobcats for Diaw.
