Gee adjusted well to Johnson's length.

Michael Jordan hits the baseline post up fadeaway.
Wait what? Alonzo Gee, my bad.
I could see Neal getting a run with the Toros to see if he could handle the point.
@JMcDonald_SAEN - Gist back to bench after heading to locker room following collision. At this rate, #spurs won't have enough players to finish week.
@JMcDonald_SAEN - Mike Bud on the bench, giving some sort of defensive tutorial to Alonzo Gee. Lots of pointing and gesticulating.
Uh-oh. Temple being carried off by team's training staff. Grabbing lower leg. He was having a nice day, too.
He'd have to be on the Spurs' roster and sent down, I think. Way too much money waiting for him in Europe.
So do we think the Gist as a three experiment is dead? He's been the 4 or 5 for most of the game and spends a lot of time in the low block.
Lots hope Gee absorbs buds wisdom like a sponge.
Is anyone else listening to this atrocity on ESPN?
good to know. He's played good D too. Hopefully Richards can come in and add some length. Pop has probably told Bud to savor small ball till the regular season starts.![]()
It's clear that Gist's time in Russia has helped his development. He is more polished on defense, in setting screens, and rebounding position and in his traps. He has played the 4 the whole game. He's not being called on to score. He is doing better than what some of you guys are giving him credit for, or the lack thereof.
Gist is still limping
I wish Smitty would correct the mispronunciation of Gist's name.
Wayne Ellington splits the pick and roll defender, spins past the help defense and lays it in. Can't defend that.
I think he's doing fine. It is noteworthy he isn't playing the three, but it's only game one.
@JMcDonald_SAEN - Spurs' brain trust -- everyone but RC -- looking on from under basket. RC was in SA today for Splitter introductory presser.
I still have yet to hear anyone clarify what it is he's doing wrong. He's always been good as a 4 or a 5. Last year he struggled trying to play the 3 and his shooting was bad.
Watkins didn't need to crank that dunk back. Lots of talent, but everything about him says "muttonhead" to me.
Rick Kamla: Jiiiissst

Gary Neal is like Vinny the microwave.
Gee can't dribble to save his life.
Alonzo Gee with his "Ball don't lie" moment.
lol, Kamla: "that was an adventurous, end-to-end odyssey for Alonzo Gee."
My feed is a little jumpy, when Gee was driving I thought 'WTF is that ref trying to block him for?'
