    Whats your favorite!!!

This means in-game music.... not commercial music like Gears of War with Devotchka or Gary Jules. Straight up in-game music.

Mine? I always thought Bionic Commando was the , the remake only makes it more evident.

That game had some of the badest ing ass music for an 8 bit game.

The new is a pretty tight remake of the origional 8-bit . I wouldnt be embarrased pumping "Power Plant" out of my car speakers.

You have to have a good speaker system to trully experience it.

The absolute best? For me HAS to be KUF: Kingdom Under Fire, Circle of Doom for the Xbox 360. I played that game just to hear the music.

The best video game music I've heard so far next to Halo...

I love Super Mario Galaxy's music. As far as old school, gotta go with the Mega Man series.

NES: That's tough. I want to say Zelda or Mario, but they were also the most undoubtedly iconic games, so that definitely leans me to them as far as the music goes. Truth be told, I don't really remember soundtracks this far back.

    Genesis: Crappy sound.

SNES: No contest here, IMO. Chrono Trigger wins this generation, followed closely by Final Fantasy VI. Although there are a LOT of good soundtracks on this console, even with the crappy sound processing hardware they used at the time.

More as I think of them. What stood out to you guys on the original Playstation?

    Super Hang on

By the way, I played Super Hang On on an AMiga; the sound quality was MUCH better thanb on the Sega Genesis

(This video is from a Genesis I believe)

    Genesis: Crappy sound.
    Sonic 2 disagrees.

Well, does it still fail now that you put Tetris up? I only liked the Russian sounding song...I never really played it through, so I'm not sure if they change it up.

Blizzard has some epic songs to accompany their games. Especially the songs that accompany their trailers. Those songs give me goosebumps.

Really nice andf jazzy rendition of it in my XBLA Tetris- Tetris Splash.

As far as contemporary games go, RDR had a kickass soundtrack.

It's Chrono Trigger by a mile. Heck, check out OCRemix.org, it's the game with the most remixes by far, IIRC. (Megaman 2 gets decent play, as does Mario, Link and Castlevania.)

Red Dead Redemption had amazing music, and the song that plays when you ride into Mexico for the first time was one of my favorite moments in all the games I've played.

Pixeljunk Eden has great music as well

Of the "current" generation of games, Halo probably stands out. (Moreso the first than the last two.) Indigo Prophecy was pretty good, and I liked Dragon Age's soundtrack. Nothing too "iconic" though.

I have a soft spot for the Katamari music, too.
