Only thing that seems to make sense for them would be a deal involving mcdyess. salaries are close enough to work with. I don't necessarily think Kapono is worth getting rid of Dice for.
The sixers are willing to trade him and his 6 million dollar salary with one year remaining. What's the chances we get him and what would we have to give up...we need solid 3 point shooters and he is at 44% for his career.

Not going to happen. It would take McDyess and some combination of Gee/Hairston/Jerrels/Temple. I just don't see the Spurs letting McDyess go for Kapono.
DT beat me to the punch. I need to type faster.
How about the lle and Pops boy Matt Bonner
I've always liked his shooting ability, but not for $6million. I know the Spurs would like to have shooters, but they also need some capable defenders. Kapono is far from that.
I don't think the LLE is a tradeable asset.
I would rather have Nachbar or Simmons for cheap than give up a key player (McDyess) and a few decent prospects (though they might get cut by the 76ers) for the extremely one dimensional, non intense, afraid-to-shoot-at-the-end-of-quarters-because-I'm-scared-it-will-lower-my-percentage-or-if-I-don't-have-a-perfectly-clean-look Kapono.
You cant trade the LLE. You cant sign and trade a player signed with the LLE either.
Kapono is simply a shooter, nothing else. I wouldn't give McDyess for him.
Bonner cant be trade until after December 15th unfortunately.
I don't want Jason Kapono. We're about to resign Richard Jefferson. Just sign Adam Morrison or Rasual Butler to play backup and you'll have a Kapono upgrade.
Great 3-pt shooter. Terrible defender. Zero athleticism.
roger mason sign n' trade ?
Wait till December 15, use Bonner for trades of this sort. No way should Dice (who did a phenomenal job on Dirk last playoffs) be traded for overpaid, no-defense shooters.
Well, the Spurs will look at shooters. I also think RC pointed it out in an interview that they are really looking to add one.
That said, I think his contract is too big. If the Spurs would trade for him I would not be too upset (depending on who they give away). Having a 44% 3p% would really help to stretch the floor.
Kapono would play the same role as Brent Barry, right? The Spurs don't have the right salaries to match (outside of McDyess, who I wouldn't trade for Kapono) anyway.
Too bad we couldn't have done a sign-and-trade of Bonner + enough unguaranteeds for Kapono...
Barry was much more versatile than Kapono. Barry could fill in at the point if needed with good ball handling capabilities and excellent passing skills--neither of which Kapono has.
Anderson (yes I know he is a SG) might be as effective as Kapono. You would probably get better defense with Anderson.
