I don't even know how he can claim that we've had the '2nd best offseason' by not handing out ridiculous contracts when the details of 2 out of the 3 new contracts are not even available out there yet...
New fan? Not at all. Been a Spurs fan since the days of The Admiral's domination, before TD was even drafted.
I know the "Spurs way" but really this summer gave us LOTS of options, Splitter was the most obvious and easiest decision. But lots of good FA's that fit a role we were looking for and it seemed the Spurs expressed no interest in any of them.
I never mentioned making a blockbuster trade or anything like that, it just I expected to Spurs to get some veterans in with the LLE and remainder of the MLE. It's been a different summer than usual. It's been quite slow and all the FA's we shoulda been interested in have signed elsewhere. At least, we got some decent news about RJ, although it's probably 2 weeks late. We'll see what the contract details will be tomorrow with some more information hopefully. I would still like a backup veteran SF, hopefully we can get 1 more guy (like Rasual Butler for example) and call it a summer. That would be a successful summer, but highly doubtful we'd get someone. We'll probably stick with RJ, and we got Anderson, Gee and Hairston waiting to shine.

It certainly wasn't a bad offseason, assuming the Jefferson numbers aren't ridiculous. Right now it's basically last year's roster plus two first round picks, and two very NBA-ready picks at that.
But is that a successful offseason? imo to call it successful, I'd have to be left with the feeling this team has a good chance to win a championship. As much as it pains me to say it, at of this moment I do not believe this team a serious threat for an NBA le, unless we get a collective surge in production from some guys (?Hill, Jefferson, Blair?).
Luckily there is time to prove me ridiculous and hasty.
Book it here. Spurs will outdo the big free agent spenders next season.
Are you Jeff McDonald?
Front office was also able to save millions of dollars by getting under the luxury tax. I'd say that was a pretty good offseason.
SOME of you are really dumb or something with this ongoing sentiment that Jeff McDonald is terrible and that you can do his job better than he can. Perhaps McDonald isn't Johnny Ludden, but the guy is a pro. News flash: most of you aren't journalism majors. If you guys want to criticize and be taken seriously, go get degrees.
I'm not sure people criticize his writing so much as BLATANTLY wrong facts. You don't need a degree to pick those out, and it's happened literally dozens of times.
As often as he gets it wrong, a degree is overrated.
Not saying you're lying. Lots of people seem to support what you say. But I also read his stuff all the time and haven't really found any BLATANTLY WRONG write-ups by him.
If someone had a file of McDonald mistakes to help me, it'd be nice.
But I swear you guys hate on him like Laker fans hate on LeBron. Lol.
BTW Journalims major in the houseeeeee! lol
so so true i dont ever remember the spurs getting in on freeagency until everyone is done lol im so impatient so it pisses me off every year but hey they know what the heck theyre doing, they always end up solid, well except the scola,M. rose fiasco
How has McDonald been a jerk again?
What does having a journalism degree have to do with getting a ING FACT straight? I never said that asshole couldnt write, just that he sucked as a beat reporter when a HUGE part of his job is having correct facts.
And shouldnt he be coming up with original material instead of pilfering it from other places and claiming it as his own?
So I guess you wont make it, since you cant spell your ing major.
And there was a file, however the rag he writes for got their panties in a wad, so its no longer there.
