This dude is 26 already?
Bonner > Morrison.
I would rather resign Roger Mason Jr. to be honest.
His injuries took away all his mobility. Morrison had a pretty decent rookie year, but after he got hurt he just didn't have the quickness to get his shot off.
I'd rather see if we could trade for Jason Kapono.
Morrison is a dud.
Kapono is due 6+ mil. this coming season...no thanks
It's fine to try him out for the minimum.
Are any teams interested in him at all?
How could you pass up a guy with 2 rings?
But, seriously, Phila brings up a a great point. Where did he suddenly fall off from the player he was in college?
the minute he hit the nba
I don't know about him specifically but it happens often when a player's skills are maximize in college but hit a wall in the pros when playing faster, taller, stronger and more skilled players all around and he has already hit their ceiling. If you add that he is no longer the big fish in a small pond...
Plus, he has the curse of being drafted by MJ![]()
He had a decent rookie year, put up 12 points. He's a good kid, and he's 6'8, so I'd say he's an upgrade over Bogans any day. Give the kid a chance. He can backup RJ.
He might even end up putting Richard Jefferson on the bench!...
He's also interesting in that he can play both the 3 and the 4, which would address both our need for a back-up for RJ while potentially filling in as an emergency big.
That said, we could do worse than Morrison as a back-up 3, I guess.
The Spurs signing Neal should pretty much kill any interest they might have had in Morrison.
He does look a little like Saayyten? (Think Church Lady)
I dont even know if the spurs had any interest in morrison to begin with.
Why?
They play different positions.
What does Morrison give you that Neal doesn't?
A small forward.
These days Morrison isn't anything more than a shooting specialist.
A small forward shooting specialist.
A shooting specialist who can't play the small forward position, but since he's 6-8 people still call him one.
