No Okafor, no deal.
no offense, but......how is oden part of the core?
No Okafor, no deal.
Because he's the ONLY chance we have of winning the LOB during the next 5 years. With the Lakers still at their peak for the next 2 years, and the Heat with them and for 3-5 years after nobody else is going to win a le. We're the only team that has a chance and that's only with a healthy Oden.
CP3 and Roy would be a deadly combination. Roy doesn't need to dominate the ball to be effective. His game is so well-rounder, he can pretty much do whatever he wants.
Okay, we'll give you Camby and we'll take Okafor.
People saying the roy and cp3 wouldn't work need to think about last year when the same thing was said about andre.. sure I thought that way last year also but after watching every blazer game I cam to the conclusion that I was mistaken.. I believe paul could be a pretty good fit on the team not only would he make us better but also aldridge and oden(if healthy lol) paul is great with feeding the big men. Something that has rarely been done, when oden was healthy last year and his teamates actually looked for him down low he was pretty surprising. Although not a huge offensive threat he was a lot better then the previous year..
lol relying on Greg Oden to get you to the promised land
I am not saying they could NOt adjust their games ...but how is CP3 effective WITHOUT the ball? he is not a great spot up shooter. Roy can probably play better without the ball than Paul (obviously) but his strength is his ability to create "off the bounce" i have watched this guy since college (i follow Pac 10 ball as a Bruin alumni) and if you take the ball out of his hands he is half the player he can be. Roy was meant to be in a triangle or princeton offense ...Paul in a D'antoni or pnr heavy offense ...
they are bothy great players they could adjust but i think you get diminishing returns with that pairing ...
Plus both coming off of injury and neither are great defenders ...I think they would be good ... but le contenders? doubtful.
and the manu/parker analogy is poor.
Manu is GREAT at moving without the ball and scrapping for the ball ...Roy though a great player is not Manu when it comes to playing without the ballin his hands (IMHO)
CP3 though is better than Parker when healthy ...
That's probably the best available trade for CP3. The Hornets get rid of a bad contract (Okafor) while getting expiring contracts (Priz & Miller) combined with young talent (Batum, Bayless & Oden). Oden is low risk/ potentially high-reward as he's still on his rookie contract.
of course ! I'm a tp fan but CP3 is the better player and he is younger, spurs would be dumb to not do that. Nevertheless it makes no sense for NO.
When's the last time Portland wasn't injured? 1992?
There's no freaking way we'd make that trade.
cept parker would jsut bolt next season plus you have to take back okafor for any cp3 trade
Bull . The Spurs are a true PG away from a three-peat.
@ tlong for not wanting to get the best point guard in the league if that means giving up a draft bust who can't play more than a third of his games.
Laugh all you want dude. Oden is a once in a generation center. Still. There's no conclusive evidence to indicate he will continue to be injury prone.
And there is no conclusive evidence that a player who can't stay on the court for 2/3 of a season will ever be a "once in a lifetime" anything.
You are delusional. Oden is a bust. Get over it.
