Thank the Lord!!!!! That is going to save us some money
Its possible... Matt is looking for some contract security... if the Lakers offered a multi-year deal they'd have a chance.
Matt says this a lot... he's tired of "grinding" every year, hopping from one team to the next.
Not sure what you mean with regards to Luke... word is Luke's back is pretty bad and there is belief he may have to retire because of it, not sure anyone looks at him as having value and he's under contract so not sure who your talking sign-and-trade with... he doesn't belong to Toronto, he was in Orlando last year.
Thank the Lord!!!!! That is going to save us some money
The league will never grant us a waiver so what's the sense?
Dont matter, somehow he'll still have 3 years left on his contract.
If Luke retires, and the docs says he is unable to play.. the insurance will pay most of his contract and i believe (not sure) his salary wont count towards the cap!!!
the are you talkin about? the league will bend over backwards to handjob the Lakers in any way possible.
Dont forget the rim job
Just because the Heat took your pants down and you liked it, Mono, don't mean you have to get surly.
tee, hee.
How convenient. The Lakers sign Walton to a hideous contract, and then he retires.
Nice bailout, Mr. Stern. Not quite as good as Kwame for Gasol, but still, not bad.
Now the League has to figure out how Sasha gets hit by a bus. Tragically, of course.
Calm the down, Base. It ain't happened yet, dummy.
why.. he's on a contract year... he either plays real well, trade em for a draft pick, or let him play out his contract![]()
David Stern is probably sucking Buss's balls right now and asking if he wants two waivers, one for each nut.
you're right. I should wait until I invite someone to lunch and get surly when they don't show up![]()
Given a choice twixt that & having the Heat do me that-a-way, I'll eat sans.
tee, hee.
PLEASE ING RETIRE and let the Lakers sign another usable guy!!!
Nice comeback. Someone calls out your idiocy and you deflect.
Zero percent chance the league doesn't give LAL the best possible ruling.
LA is still well over the cap, regardless. It just means that Buss would probably pony up a little extra to keep some guys on the team.
There's a disability exception in the NBA and I think it will allow the team to sign someone without that signing being hit against the cap.
50 percent of Luke's salary? That's already 3 mil and we could sign a lot of guys with that money.Disabled Player Exception: Allows a team that is over the cap to acquire a replacement for a disabled player who will be out for either the remainder of that season (for in-season injuries/deaths) or the next season (if the disability occurs during the offseason). The maximum salary of the replacement player is either 50% of the injured player's salary, or the average salary, whichever is less. This exception requires an NBA-designated doctor to verify the extent of the injury.
he should become a spurs assistant.
that would give a little push. har har
Why would he be surly if he liked it, Polanski?
Good question.
Mono?
Best thing the Lakers can do is to help a team who needs cap relief.
1. Trade Walton (5.3 million) to a team like Houston (Ariza) that would waive the physical for Walton
2. Walton retires saving the team money (insurance) and more cap relief
and if team really needs to save money ... you can package Walton and Sasha's 5.5 million dollar contract
just a thought
Any takers??
