Matt Barnes has agreed in principle on a two-year, $3.6 million deal with the Lakers, league sources tell Y! He's expected to sign tonight.

looks like i'm rooting for the Heat in the Finals now. The Lakers had my support until they decided to sign the biggest punk got in the history of the sport.

I just want Brown done ...I know some feel is overkill but if Shannon stays I think we have better chance of unloading Sasha ...if a need arises.
I doubt we bring a guard in at the deadline but if we lose a front court player or can upgrade ...having Brown is nice insurance ...PLUS
We have little speed and athleticism that is the ONE AREA (and maybe wing passing) where Miami is wAYYYY better than us ...
Re-signing Brown doesnt change that ..but it helps ....

Barnes is passionate, but, he does not persuade. A lot of activity, but, precious little quality production. He's not trustworthy.
TBH I agree but he is backing up Artest ... and maybe Kobe depending on matchups ...
How many big shots will he have? And even though he is a bit overrated defensively ...the dropoff like we had last year with Luke was MUCH worse ..

I guess if we re-sign Brown I'm cool with your plan but otherwise why not let these kids learn fom the championship vets?

100% agree with this. But a very low risk player were giving him 1.8 million,if he causes Kobe will tell management to ship his ass out

Unless injury occurs he has EXACTLY what you want out of a bench player ...hustle, energy, toughness a liitle defense and a little offense if true real good pickup.
You can tell the Lakers organization really wants that 3peat, they have the experience and talent to do it but it won't be an easy road since they have played in the NBA finals 3 straight years now and sooner or later wear and tear will creep up on this Lakers team.

Well Ron is a legitimate tough guy in the league. Nobody s with Artest. Matt Barnes has tried everything in the book to look like a tough guy, but unfortunately he doesn't realize that tough is a state of mind. All the posturing in the world won't prove you're tough to anybody.

Nowe be honest I'm a Bruin so of course I'm a bit biased here but i thought his fake tough guys stuff was funny ...ALMOST all these guys are -made.
I was no star in HS all conference no college scholarship offers (track only) BUT all the real TOUGH guy gang affiliated true bad asses KEPT me out of trouble and when fights would break tell me to keep out cuz they wanted me to have a chance ...
KG, Barnes, Raja Bell Kobe ... I bet none of these guys been in any real fights by the time they play AAU ball ...
Artest is one of the FEW i buy as a REAL tough guy ..
Please. The vast lion's share of posters on this Board had grievous doubts about Artest as late as the dawn of The Finals. Don't pretend otherwise, Mono.
