If Sherrod was an established name in civil rights and known for her good work, then why did she cave in so easily to requests for her resignation when she knew that she would be vindicated by the full context of her speech?

Breitbart's wanton disregard for the truth was bound to draw a defamation suit at some point. I think there's another one already underway wrt L'Affaire ACORN

If the precedent was set that bloggers can't publicly misrepresent a person at the cost of that person's job, that would be for the betterment of the nation.

He fully accepts the consequences of his actions and is eager to apologize make things right, right?
To suggest that Breitbart's behavior warrrants the lawsuit is not an employment of malice but one of description IMO. (At any rate, it is already a legally known fact.)
But I see how it could be taken otherwise, and my point would have suffered nil by its absence. Your objection is accidentally well taken it seems.
