They were both players who were either drafted by the Spurs (Georgios Prentezis, 2007 draft) or were a pick that was traded to OKC who then traded their draft pick to Dallas who selected Rodrigue Beaubois?

They both play positions the Spurs desperately could have used help in (the 3 and the 1) and could have been Spur players today.

    Yes, but more specific.

How were they acquired/traded and whom were the parts involved outgoing and incoming?

Prentezis was traded for a 2008 2nd round pick which the Spurs used on Goran Dragic (for Phoenix) and got back Malik Hairston.

Delusional Mavs fans think that their team could have beat the Spurs in the playoffs if Carlisle had played Beaubois?

Oh, the Spurs traded the 1st rd 2009 pick to Seattle (OKC) for Kurt Thomas. Oklahoma City picked Beaubois and traded him to Dallas.

I still hate that we traded a legit backup for TP for a scrub in Malik.

    Uhhh, not quite.

    Printezis:

The Spurs used the 58th pick of the 2007 draft to select Printezis. A draft night trade moved his rights to Toronto in exchange for Toronto's second round pick in the 2008 draft. That turned out to be the 45th pick in 2008. In a draft night trade in 2008, the Spurs traded the 45th pick in 2008 (Dragic) for the 48th pick in 2008 (Malik), $500K, and Golden State's second round pick in the 2009 draft (which Phoenix had acquired back in 2005). That pick became the 37th pick in the 2009 draft which the Spurs used to select Dejuan Blair.

So the Spurs turned the rights to the 58th pick in the 2007 draft into Dejuan Blair, Malik Hairston, and $500K. Pretty good value.

Spurs acquired Kurt Thomas form Seattle in exchange for:

Brent Barry, Francisco Elson, 2009 protected first round pick (top 15 in 2009, top 10 in 2009, top 5 in 2011, top 3 in 2012, unprotected in 2013) (2009 #25-Rodrigue Beaubois)

And in '07 they traded the rights to Georgios Prentezis for the 45th pick in '08, which was used to draft Dragic in a prearranged deal that netted the Spurs Hairston and ...

    Show him what he's one!

    Honestly ... I got nothing.

I've heard a lot of people pretty pissed about Dragic given his series against the Spurs, but when you realize the Spurs turned Prentezis into Blair and Hairston, and not Dragic, it takes on a different feel (even if I'm not one who's bent about Dragic -- I'll take Blair and Hairston).

    Georgios Prentezis

    Rodrigue Beaubois
They are both foreign basketball players and the Spurs have foreign basketball players on their team.

In that context, I feel better about my contribution.
