I can't do the youtube thing at work, but look up Sonny Rollins. Moritat is good song to start with.
Pat Metheny is a good modern jazz artist. Are You Going With Me is probably his most famous song.
Zorn is out there a lot, but you gotta like him:
Dave Brubeck's signature hit--mainstream jazz, but a classic for the newbie jazz fan. --Whoops, didn't notice RomanEmpire put it up first...changed it to a Mingus track...

As much as I love Nina Simone, this version is just class. Very good to put the Holiday Collection on and pour yourself a single malt and just watch the the lights light up the night.
Probably my fave out of Coltrane's tracks...
A Love Supreme is probably one of the best albums in any genre

Truth. It is another album that I have kept on vinyl and I always enjoy it from start to finish.
